Please pray for catechumens who are preparing to be received into the Church at Easter and are under spiritual attack. I’m in this situation myself and it is truly horrible. I’ve seen threads from other catechumens in the last few days, about the same issue, and I am sure there are many who are struggling with this. Please pray for us, that we will receive light and grace to do the Will of God.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed by Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.

PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH,
IN TIME OF DISTRESS
We come to you,
O blessed Joseph,
in our distress.
Having sought the aid of your most blessed spouse,
we now confidently implore your assistance also.
We humbly beg that,
mindful of the affection
which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God,
and of the fatherly love
with which you cherished the Child Jesus,
you will lovingly watch over the heritage
which Jesus Christ purchased with His blood,
and by your powerful intercession
help us in our urgent need.
Prudent guardian of the Holy Family,
protect the chosen people of Jesus Christ;
drive far from us,
most loving father,
all error and corrupting sin.
From your place in heaven,
most powerful protector,
graciously come to our aid
in this conflict with the powers of darkness,
and as of old you delivered the Child Jesus
from danger of death,
so now defend the holy Church
from the snares of the enemy
and from all adversity.
Extend to each one of us your continual protection,
that, led on by your example,
and borne up by your strength,
we may be able to live
and die in holiness
and obtain everlasting happiness in heaven.

Amen.

Praying for all catechumens and their catechists.

:signofcross:

O my Jesus,
Forgive us our sins,
Save us from the fires of Hell,
And bring all souls to Heaven,
Especially those which have
Most need of thy mercies.
Amen.

Lord, we lift up all catechumens under spiritual attack to You and we ask for You to strengthen and protect these precious souls who are seeking to unite themselves to You in a deeper and fuller way through full communion within Your Holy Church.

Soul of Christ, sanctify them; Body of Christ, save them; Blood of Christ, inebriate them; Water from the side of Christ, wash them; Passion of Christ, strengthen them. O good Jesus, hear them; within Your wounds, hide them; let them never be separated from You; from the evil one, protect them; at the hour of their deaths, call them; and bid them to come to You; that with Your saints, they may praise you forever and ever.

Amen

Remembering catechumens in my prayers. Thank you for bringing this issue to my intention, I had no idea that this happens but it makes much sense.
Our Father…
St. Michael the Archangel…

Thank you for opening this thread. It’s really neccessary and certainly a good thing.

But for me it may be to late. Unless something of great significance happens I will write to my priest this evening, explain the situation and ask him to cancel my entrance into the Church. I just prayed for a long time and I think this is the right decision. I’m still in mourning though. 😦

student09,

Through the intercession of St. Robert Bellarmine and St. Charles Borromeo (patron saints of catechumens), I ask the Lord to provide courage and perseverance to you and all Catechumens.

“Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Know that in our church, we pray for Catechumens at every Sunday Mass. Many many Catholics are lifting you in prayer.

Lenten Blessings to all,
Kathleen

Thank you all for your prayers.

Xandria, I sent you a PM. I am here if you want to talk.

Lord we lift this soul up to you again today and seek your protection & guidance. We ask that all things will come to fruition in Your perfec ttiming. We pray for perseverence and wisdom; we ask for Your loving presence to be made manifest in an unmistakeable way. Through Christ all things are possible & we ask for Your grace to flow abundantly to this troubled soul who longs to know You more deeply.

It is such a huge step, Lord, and the night is darkest before the dawn, so they can naturally get ‘cold feet’.
Jesus please hold their hands and lead them, and give them the inspirations and graces they need to carry them through, and after their reception into the Church, to feel welcomed and supported, to remain faithful, and to continue growing in faith and the Sacraments.

For each of them:

“This…is what I pray before the Father from whom every family, whether spiritual or natural, takes its name:
Out of His infinite glory, may He give you the power through His Spirit for your hidden self to grow strong, so that Christ may live in your hearts through faith,
and then, planted in love and built on love,
you will with all the saints have strength to grasp the breadth and the length, the height and the depth;
until, knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond all knowledge, you are filled with the utter fullness of God.”

“Glory be to Him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine; glory be to Him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.” [Ephesians 3: 14-21]

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and in the hour of our death. Amen

Thank you all for your prayers …

Lord keep us safe from all assaults of evil, and give us the grace to recognize when we are being tempted and to resist temptation. May we always look to You.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

St Michael the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, o prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

A Novena Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we know that there is but one thing impossible to You: to be without pity for those who are in suffering or distress. Look down on us, we beg of You and grant us the grace which we humbly and earnestly implore, through the Immaculate Heart of Your most sorrowful Mother to whom You confided us as her children, and whose prayers are all powerful with You. Amen.
