For all climbing The Reek in Ireland today

Reek Sunday and difficult weather.

When folk set out to climb Croagh Patrick in Mayo. Many enthusiastic but unfit and some who choose to walk bare footed on the extra scree that has been paid atop the rough path

That those who are overwhelmed may find the sense and humility to turn back… and for the rescue workers who are out in their hundreds…

That the weather stay clear enough even with the current deluges…

Just always have known of this;will be out that way Tuesday but will NOT be climbing. The stairs here are more than enough of a challenge…

It sounds quite painful…but might have been fun…about twenty years ago!

Meant to be… painful I mean. Always some who do it barefoot and end up in hospital … Shudders…

Often though too those who overdo and have to be airlifted off by helicopter.
