Prayer for Mothers

Good and Gentle God, we pray in gratitude for our mothers and for all the women of theory who have joined with you in the wonder of bringing forth new life. You who became human through a woman, grant to all mothers the courage they need to face the uncertain future that life with children always brings.
Give them the strength to love and to be loved in return, not perfectly, but humanly.
Give them the faithful support of husband, family and friends as they care for the physical and spiritual growth of their children.
Give them joy and delight in their children to sustain them through the trials of motherhood.
Most of all, give them the wisdom to turn to you for help when they need it most.
Amen.

REMEMBER, O holy mother St. Anne, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help and sought thy intercession was left unaided, for thou art a most merciful mother and aid all who are in distress.

Inspired with this confidence, I take refuge with thee and beseech thee, by thy great prerogative of being the mother of the Queen of Heaven and grandmother of the Savior of the world, come to my aid with thy powerful intercession, and obtain from thine Immaculate Daughter this favor: of praying for all expectant mothers…In honor of the nine months during which thou didst bear the ever-blessed Virgin in thy womb and brought her forth without stain of Original Sin, I now pray nine Hail Marys, which offer thee through my Guardian Angel. Amen.

Being an expectant mother myself, I have my own anxieties and fear over this little life that I am carrying. Like:
-Can we afford this child now? Are we ready for a baby? Are we going to be good parents?

It is our first child that we have been praying so hard for that God has granted us after a year of marriage. I know some couples are not as lucky.

I thank you for this intention and in turn I am praying with you for all the expectant mothers with me.

you created the human family
as a reflection of your own divine life
so that your creation might share in your happiness.

Hear our prayer for your daughter
who awaits the birth of her child.
She has cooperated with you in giving life.
Assist her now as she prepares to give birth
to the child in her womb.
May Mary be her guide and support,
calming her fears and strengthening her love.

May your daughter be filled with your peace and blessing
so that she may bring her child into this world
safely and in good health to the praise and
Glory of Your Name.
