Merciful Savior,
Please send the Holy Spirit to enlighten all who are deceived into this sinful practice. Please remove for us the harm and evils that have been inflicted on our society through the widespread acceptance of artificial birth control: abortion, divorce, general lowering of morality, disrespect for women, etc. Please send all of us, married or single, your grace in abundance to embrace the virtue of chastity. Amen.

Oh Mary, Mother most pure, pray for us. Amen.

I could not possibly disagree more with this sentiment or this Catholic teaching.

Hence the need for more prayers on this subject.

In addition, I believe this forum is for the posting of prayers, not for debates or disagreements.

praying and also praying for my mum who still thinks that ABC is a solution for couple. and for my auntie who is against the church on this teaching.

Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among the women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of hour death. Amen.

I will join my prayers to yours, Opera. May God open all hearts to life and forgive us for selfishness attitudes and teachings that seek to suppress the gift of a child.

Catechism 2366: Fecundity is a gift, an end of marriage, for conjugal love naturally tends to be fruitful. A child does not come from outside as something added on to the mutual love of the spouses, but springs from the very heart of that mutual giving, as its fruit and fulfillment. So the Church, which is on the side of life, teaches that it is necessary that each and every marriage act remain ordered per se to the procreation of human life. This particular doctrine, expounded on numerous occasions by the Magisterium, is based on the inseparable connection, established by God, which man on his own initiative may not break, between the unitive significance and the procreative significance which are both inherent to the marriage act.

Exactly the same attitude held by Scott Hahn until his wife Kimberly, in her MBA project discovered that up until 1930 every protestant congregation held firmly to the belief that artificial contraception was a sin. And one by one, they began to break from that belief. Scott began to study this as well and came to the conclusion that mans interference with the outcome of life in the sexual act between a man and his wife, was indeed a sin and an offense against GOD.
Now after 1,930 years of believing that contraception was a sin, and only in the past 80 years have the protestant congregations been changed, perhaps you should study this to make sure, that the previous 1,930 years were wrong, and the past 80 years are actually the correct posture in this matter.

A good first place to start would be to listen to Scott Hahns reaction in his conversion CD, which mirrors your reaction.
