I believe your Allah and our God is the same. I fear him and I fear all men who fear him, and all who labored, and all who mourned. And I believe that your Holy One will come. When I first read what your version of heaven was, I feared far greater.

God Bless

Clovis, when I read your post you reminded me of someone who was Moslem and not Catholic. Forgive me but the reason that I say this is because our tradition is centered on the Trinity from which overpowering love issues like the energy coming from the sun and not fear. Unfortunately, I am beginning to believe and learn that our Moslem brothers live with a pervasive fear of Allah more than of a sense of love. I believe that theologically speaking the term “fear” in the OT when it is used in reference to God really implies awe and not so much fear. As far myself, without the understanding of God as love and what it can mean, I would have ended up an atheist. So now even when I do sin, I don’t think so much in terms of the punishment awaiting me but instead I find myself thinking in terms of relationships and harm caused to others and of losing friendship with God and cutting myself off from him. I think that one of Pope John Paul’s first statements was to fear not, so be careful about centering on the fear aspect. It is unfortunate that The Prophet Mohammed taught more about the fear of Allah and by extention the fear of hell, for with fear comes a barrier to really getting close to knowing God and of a master and slave or servant mentality. Worse yet, this fear and barriers then lead to a sense of bondage and barriers between men. Oh how our history since Christ has been littered with broken lives due to that mind set.

From your above paragraph it looks like that Christians do not believes on HELL. And God makes HEAVEN & HELL. Rather than Heaven only. And he will fill Hell with disbeliever on judgement day.

And I am proud to say that Allah/God is the master of the universe and i am nothing just a servant to Allah/God. And there is no word slave infront of Allah/God. This slave thing made by human especially exist in children of israel not in Muslims. Moses pbuh & Prophet Muhammad pbuh came to free slaves and make no difference between any humanbeing. Jesus pbuh is nothing just a prophet and messenger from Allah/God. And donot think that he will safe you from all your evil doing which you have commited in your life time. You have to face the coincident. Understand me guyz. Its not trick o treat.

A Muslim should live in balance between fear of Allah, and Hope in his Mercy.

A well-known Companion (think it was Abu Bakr, but not totally sure) of Muhammad (s) described his fear and hope of Allah like this. He said that if every other person on earth had made it into Paradise, he would still fear that Allah would punish him for his sins. And if every other person had been thrown into Hellfire, he would still have hope that Allah would have mercy on him and spare him from punishment, and admit him to Paradise.

So it is not true that Muslims live only in fear of God–they should not. If a person only fears God, then he begins to despair and there is no real reason to worship. If a person only has hope in God, then he becomes arrogant thinking that he will never be punished or held accountable.

Islam preaches both.

Whenever you will find in the Qur’an, a passage about Hellfire and the people who will be punished, you will also see (usually right after) a comparison, with a passage about Paradise and those who are rewarded.

Salaam Sister Amy,

Well from some person i heard that who ever say tawhid i,e, “Lailaha il lal la Muhammad dore Rasul Allah” will be granted Paradise. But he will face hell who do evil deeds but after finishing his punishment he be sent into paradise. Coz Prophet Muhammad pbuh will request for his or her forgiveness. Note who follows what Prophet Muhammad pbuh preaches about Allah and stick with his preaching. And ofcourse all prophets will request i guess from the Lord of the universe about forgiveness of his follower who follows that right teaching of his or her Prophets. Rather than conjecture. Hope i understand it.

Probably One of the Non-Belivers who interpreter or make up hadiths which i talk about in my previous post about they will stay in few days in hell fire than moved out to heaven. I donot know is it in hadiths or the person who i am heard made it up. My life sacrifice for Hadiths but again some people are trying taking advantages or made up hadiths. And they are the enemies of ISLAM.

I can’t find which collection it’s in, but here is a hadith for you from a statement by Sheikh 'Atiyyah Saqr:

Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was wearing white clothes and sleeping. I went back to him again after he had got up from his sleep. He said, “Nobody says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah’ and then later on he dies while believing in that, except that he will enter Paradise.” I said, “Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft?” He said, “Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft.” I said, “Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft?” He said, “Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft, in spite of Abu Dharr’s disliking (it).” Abu `Abdullah said, “This is at the time of death or before it if one repents and regrets and says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’ He will be forgiven his sins.”

Salaam Again,

Thats what my Father said about “kalma”🙂 other think which i mentioned from some other person i donot know who i did heard from.

Sister Amy what are the five biggest sins in ISLAM. I didnot do that. And i am focusing on paradise but may be the least place in paradise. or Muslims who do bad things will be granted least places i guess every muslims will go in heaven. And hadiths for Muslims who all go in Heaven or they will have to face coincident for eternity in Hell. What your thoughts about this?

I believe your Allah and our God is the same.

**I don’t. For Christians, God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus is God Incarnate–or He is nothing.

I confess there is NO GOD but Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and Jesus is God Incarnate risen from the dead.**

So its mean Allah is for giving. Who ever he want will grant paradise. Well who do not do the above sin will be granted hell. Its only on Allah who he will grant hell or paradise. Right.

Then I assume Jews do not worship our God?

Then I assume Jews do not worship our God?
Muslims always come with these fallacious arguments. Jews do worship the same God as Christians although they do not confess their faith in the Trinity because Jesus endorsed the OT and claimed to be the Son of the God of Israel. No such claim is made for the Koran or the notion of deity it preaches. Muslims do not believe in the same God as Christians because they reject both the Old and the New Testament and try to replace the Bible with their Koran.

Peace to all,

Greetings from a sinner. Sorry if I led you to believe that we Catholic Christians don’t believe in hell, for it is more than that. However, there are 3 points here: First Clovis reacted to what he preceived in the Moslem literature as a strong emphasis dealing with damnation and hellfire. I don’t think that he was interpreting it in a wrong fashion, since those who study the suicide bombers conclude that a number of them are driven to their acts out of a sense of guilt for there sins and that the one way into heaven is through dying as a martyr. By the way how many verses in the Holy Koran deal with the rewards and punishments of heaven and hell? I imagine that there is more emphasis placed in your holy book on hell than in our Bible. Second: as a Catholic I have come to see my relationship grow with God in a Trinitarian way, which is all about love Put it this way, I have an 86 year old mother. As a youngster, I was centered on myself and my understanding of the world around me, so whenever I did anything, my thoughts were always on what I could get out of it for my own benefit or how my mother might punish me if I did something wrong and got caught. However, now as an adult, I have evolved in my relationship and understanding of love for my mom. Today, there is no way that I would do anything that would hurt my mother for my attitude has changed to what I can do for her and how to love her more. This is the same attitude that occurs as a Catholic grows toward his God. Yes, we are human and sin, however through confession we refine and purify our actions and thoughts to evolve further towards the God that Jesus projected as love.
Third: Tomshaikh, can you explain what you mean that the Holy Koran doesn’t project a slave-master relationship or permit slavery? Then why is it that the history of Islam is littered with the ghost of slaves? In fact their shadows cast across time to modern Sudan and Darfur, where slaves are freely procured today. In fact, my ancestors in the South couldn’t have functioned without the help of the Moslem traders who furnished them with slaves. I know that your faith doesn’t permit slavery within the membership of your faith, but what of those outside the faith? We Christians have been guilty of these same actions, but I’ll be the first to point out that it isn’t Christian or right. My impression is that the Prophet set in motions the archttypes that permited the development of a servile class relationship in society that came from Mohammed’s understanding of our relationship to an unreachable God. Sorry I don’t mean to offend but I am groping for an understanding of your culture that can only be understood through the Prophet.

I do not have a specific number–I am sure the figure is literally in the hundreds. I have heard the Qur’an described this way: as a rope, with three threads. The three threads are the major topics of the Qur’an–and there are, in fact, only three main topics.

The first main topic is Allah–God. The Qur’an, which might surprise some Christians, is about God.

The second main topic is the Messengers of God, the stories of the Prophets, and 25 are mentioned, with stories about them, including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and so on.

The third main topic is the Hereafter. There is substantial emphasis on this in the Qur’an–much more than in the Bible. I brought up these main topics to specifically point out that yes, there is much discussion of Paradise, Hellfire, and the Day of Judgment in the Qur’an. But seldom (if ever) do you find a passage dealing only with one or the other. Usually ,if punishment is mentioned, then so is reward, and vice versa.

And on slavery–as far as I know, Islam is the only religion that has procedures for freeing slaves. It is in fact a very meritorious thing to do, freeing a slave. But slavery to God, this is encouraged–because what else can we be, before God, the King, the Creator, the Disposer, except servants?

hi,

well you dont have to fear men who fear god . If they truly fear God, then they wouldnt do anything that makes you fear them. The people of God are the people when yopu get to mean , give you a since of ease and peace.

In islam we have one holy entity, that is God and only God. In Arabic we call him Allah. If you are referring to the advent of Jesus the messiah then yes we believe he is to come at the end of time.

for Muslims heaven is a perfected version of this life. not some spiritual realm only. Its a complete life but with purified souls from evil hatred and bad intentions. We also believe in a real hell. where pople are punished for their sins.

fear in islam is a healthy thing. We are humans and not angels. there will be times here our wills will falter and our logic will be twuisted. In that stage steps in fear to hiold us back from sinning against God. meaning that muslims , do not live in constant fear from God. We fear himn in a healthy way, just like a kid fears his parents wrath if he misbehaves in a healthy way too,

all the best

Muslims always come with these fallacious arguments.

Once again I will say this.

Will(me)=/=Muslim

They don’t reject it, they beleive them to have become corrupted and need to be read in light of the Koran, but don’t reject them.

Muhammed beleived in all the Prophets of the Old Testament, and beleived in Jesus as a prophet, he strictly said his God is the God of Abraham.
