Please pray for good vocations for musical composers, both those of sacred liturgical music as well as secular music. Music does a lot to shape our moral and psychological well-being, if done with virtue and beautiful and holy intentions. Please pray for all teachers of music, and anyone involved in music performance or study. And may all people be brought by God into contact with beautiful holy music of some sort, especially at Mass. St. Cecilia and St. Hildegard of Bingen are appropriate musical saints to ask for intercession. Also, for beautiful poetical lyrics in songs, we might ask for the intercession of St. John of the Cross and St. Columba, who are patrons of poetry. St. Therese the Little Flower also composed very beautiful poetry, and is just a beautiful saint to ask the intercession for any intentions in general. Also, if there are any composers or musicians whom you think might be in Heaven and could pray for our modern composers and musicians, you might ask their intercession in private.

God bless you all with the grace, beauty, and peace of Christ.

I agree with you. I often bemoan the lack of music. Of course my children hold their ears at mine.🙂

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee
blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus
Holy Mary mother of God pray for us
sinners now and at the hour of our death
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning is now ever shall be world without end Amen

While I believe secular music is entirely open (within moral bounds, of course), I think that liturgical music should follow the prescriptions explained in Vatican II, namely that the voice of the people should never be stifled by the music, that it should not be “profane” in the sense of betraying the solemn and worshipful tone of the Mass, and that the choir should never be so loud as to drown out the people. Also, that the organ and chant have a special place as elevating the spirit during Mass. I join your intentions, by the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Cecilia (patron saint of music), and all the angels, saints and blesseds. God bless. 🙂

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou
O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God
Thrust into Hell, Satan and all the evil spirits
Who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Ss. Cecilia and John of the Cross, please help composers to love beauty, order, and truth in their art. May their music reflect celestial harmony and accord. Amen.

Praying, my wife’s name is Cecilia and I have an appreciation for her and music.

Remembering your intentions in my daily prayers. God bless.
