UPDATE:

BIL is coherent. However he does not have any coordination. (Ex: can’t feed himself; walk; etc)

I have not heard the results re: brain scan.

The count of the med that the hospital OD him on is lower.
(Still a little high but closer to the level that he was suppose to have to begin with)

Thanks for all the prayers.

update: He’s walking!!! (few steps but its a start)

Drs are running testing on his pancreas, kidneys, and stomach.

They think that the infection (e.coli) may of gotten to the pancreas, kidneys, and stomach.

Brain scans came back normal…

Thanks for the prayers.
God Bless…

Thank you for the update! I will call the monestary tomorrow and give them the news, too. Don’t worry, we’ll all continue to pray!

update:
It turns out that BIL now has pancreatitis…
(It just seems to be one thing after another)

Drs are determining now what to do for treatment.

Thanks for the prayers.

UPDATE:
Drs Yesterday told Sis and BIL that the Pneumonia in BIL lungs is gone.
X-rays yesterday showed that the lungs are clear.

They are still waiting to hear about the blood work on the E. coli. (That takes 48 hours to fully culture. Yesterday, they told them so far that looks good, but they’ll know for sure the stats tomorrow) So they’ll know the stats on the E. coli some point today.

As for the pancreatitis Sis is unclear what they will do for that…
I’ll find out more today.

He was walking more yesterday. Sis and BIL walked the halls. He’s also eating good, and looks good. (He does get tired quickly, so the walks were very short)

My Sis is really hoping that they’ll let him come home before Easter.

If the E. coli looks like it’s under control they just may let that happen. If they let BIL go home he’ll still be on antibiotics and will have to go to the Drs every few days to get blood work done to check the status of the E. coli infection.

As for the kidneys and kidney stones they done all they can at this point. He does have follow up visits scheduled with the Dr. In one of those visits they are going to remove some more of the stones.

Thanks again for all the prayers.
(It’s been a real blessing, thank-you)

Update:

BIL is home but is quarantine. The only people that can be around him are my sister, their baby and his folks (only because they were at the hospital every day).

He has what my sister calls a pick IV. It’s an IV in the arm that goes straight to the heart. She has to give him meds in the IV several times a day.

He lost a lot of weight. He looks anorexic. My sister said you can see his rib bones, collar bones etc.

He goes back to the Drs Friday to have more blood work done. They are hoping that the E. coli count will be low enough for him to be placed on oral antibiotics. If he can do that then he’ll have the IV removed. My sister also told me that he’ll for the next year maybe 2 have to go to the Dr at least once a month for check-ups and blood work.

The reason for the quarantine is that if he gets another infection right now his kidneys may total give out on him and he’ll have to be put on dialyses. Something that none of us what right now.

Thanks for all the prayers

Update:

He’s now only taking oral antibiotics… The IV has been removed.
He still has along road of recovery a head… He had lost over 30 lbs from his illness and still has some infections that’s why he’s still on the antibiotics.

He has gone back to work (He’s only work one day).
It’s light duty work… With being a car/bus mechanic the only thing he can do is the paper work…

He still has to go to the Dr every other week to have blood work done (to check the status of the E. coli)
Thank you all for your prayers
