I am in the part of the US that was very hard hit by the priest scandals.

Not only that, but we have been pecked to death with improprieties of many lay people in the church. IE “practicing” Catholics that do bad things.

And just this week a huge issue broke out involving a very young adult with great authority (full-time role in a parish) caught in sexual misdeeds with a very young teen.

I am so, so very tired of it.

I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Jesus surely Your deepest sadness and Your most agonizing woulds upon the Cross were endured because Your some of chosen ones throughout the centuries betrayed You, betray You, and the innocents they should lead and protect.
Father, we offer You again the suffering of Your beloved Son,
to cure the Church of these evils,
to heal the deep damage to faith and life of the victims of abuse,
to protect those whose faith may be damaged by these crimes among Your chosen ones,
to bring about repentance of those who act criminally towards any person, and to bring to holiness those whom You have called as Shepherds or shepherds of Your people

A Prayer for the Holy Father

O God, the Shepherd and Ruler of all Your faithful people,
mercifully look upon Your servant Pope Francis, whom You
have chosen as the chief Shepherd to preside over Your

Heavenly Father, in Your wisdom You have called certain women
and men to a life of special consecration so that in prayerful
observance of a lifestyle of poverty, chastity, and obedience,
they might be witnesses to us that as St. Paul says, “our true
citizenship is in heaven.” Give them, Lord, the grace of joy and
perseverance in their holy vocation. We ask this through Christ,
Our Lord, Amen.

Prayer for Priests

Gracious and loving God, we thank your for the gift
of our priests.Through them, we experience Your
presence in the sacraments.

Help our priests to be strong in their vocation. Set
their souls on fire with love for your people.

Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength
to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire them
with the vision of Your Kingdom.

Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel.
Allow them to experience joy in their ministry.
Help them to become instruments of Your divine grace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns
as our Eternal Priest, Amen.

Prayer for Bishops

God, eternal shepherd, You have chosen servants
to be shepherds of Your flock. Give Your bishops a spirit
of courage, integrity and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge,
and love. By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his
care, may he lead Your Church as a sign of salvation for the world.
Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Prayer for the Laity

Heavenly Father, You have called us all to holiness, which means
sharing in Your divine life. Fill us with a sense of our true dignity
as those called to be Your daughters and sons in the world and
Your ambassadors of justice, love, and peace. Give us the desire
to be worthy of this great calling and the courage to live up to it.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Amen.
