Almighty Father, I come before you to pray for unity among all Christians. Your Son willed that “there may be one flock under one Shepherd”; He is the Good Shepherd, always seeking out the lost sheep to heal and restore them to membership among those who belong to Him. May Dauphin be brought to reconciliation with his fellow Catholics through the graces of healing and forgiveness that You extend to him. I pray that You will also give him the grace to be docile in spirit to the Successor of Peter, so that he will no longer rebel but rejoice in being reconciled with Holy Mother Church and the Bishop who guides Her faithful people.
Blessed Virgin Mary, please take this prayer, perfect it, and present it to Your Son, in Whose Name and Blood I pray. Amen.

I read St. Anthony Mary Claret’s autobiography a while back and he lamented that even in his time (mid 1800s) the faithful were becoming increasingly ignorant, misinformed and led astray, primarily by the media–in his day newspapers, books, and pamphlets. As he said then, “The right to speak out and teach the nations, which the Church received from God Himself in the person of the Apostles, has been usurped by a mob of obscure journalists and ignorant charlatans.”
How much more is that the case today with radio, tons of TV channels, the internet, movies, etc., etc., etc.? These things become the teachers rather than the Church.
It’s a difficult battle. The best we can do is try and share the faith with who we can and pray the Jesus light the way amidst the darkness.
