UPDATE:

Special thanks to Katherine438, pollylodges, and Luz Maria for your continuing prayers for Diane … She has needed them and continues to need them. The most recent news I heard was that she was being transferred to a nursing facility. Her condition remains serious because all this time, along with her main illness, she’s been suffering with bed sores so bad that they go down to the bone. She is unable to stand or turn over by herself and requires medical lift equipment. Prayers are still gratefully accepted.

Please know that I’m praying for you and your intentions as well.

My God,
I believe most firmly that You watch over all who hope in You,
and that we can want for nothing when we rely upon You in all things.

O merciful Father,
Who have wonderfully fashioned man in Your own image,
and have made his body to be a temple of the Holy Spirit,
sanctify, we pray You, our doctors and nurses and all those whom you have called to
…study and practice the arts of healing the sick and the prevention of disease and pain.
Strengthen them in body and soul,
and bless their work,
that they may give comfort to those for whose salvation Your Son became Man,
lived on this earth, healed the sick,
and suffered and died on the Cross.
Amen.

Apology and Thanksgiving Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Creator of all and source of all goodness and love,
please look kindly upon us,
as we ask for forgiveness for not giving You thanks.
Please receive our heartfelt apology for the lack of gratitude.
Remind us at all times that You are always worthy of our thanks.

Thank You, Heavenly Father,
for all the graces and blessings
You have bestowed upon us:
our faith and religious heritage;
the Priests who bring us the Sacraments;
our life, food and shelter;
our health, the love we have for one another;
our Police Officers and Firefighters who keep us safe;

UPDATE: Sad News …

Here is the e-mail I received from yesterday:

Dear family and friends,

Sorry to let you know that Diane passed away early this morning. She had been in the nursing home for five and a half months and was very weak. She was having trouble breathing and was taken to the hospital where she died. I understand there will be no wake or funeral but there will be a memorial get together at some later date. This is such a hard time for M. and the girls. Please keep them all in your prayers.

O am so sorry, the phoenix! My heartfelt condolences. I was so praying that she would recuperate. Hopefully Our Heaenly Father used some of our prayers already said toward her time in purgatory. You and Diane’s family remain in my prayers during this difficult time.
