Someone has told me to pray to St. Francis de Sales for spiritual direction and guidance, as well as discernment of the vocation God calls me to. Please add your prayers to mine. I need to find a solid spiritual director who is obedient to the magisterium, as well as discern with him and others what my vocation might be and how to pursue it in terms of education, location, support, work, etc.

Thank you for all of your prayers, and may God bless you.

You gift me with all the good gifts that make me the person you created me to be. Help me to know and find your will and to trust that you will help me to understand the path you call me to journey in life. Where there is doubt give me courage. Give me a heart open to your quiet voice so I can hear your call to me. Help me to know your faithfulness and help me to be faithful to that which you call me to. Amen.

You might find these resources helpful: Anything by Fr. Thomas Dubay, specifically “Seeking Spiritual Direction” which has a great section that helps guide you when you can’t find a director. A new book that helps explain Spiritual Direction and how to find one is Navigating the Interior Life navigatingtheinteriorlife.com/ It is easier to digest than the first book I mentioned. The author has a whole website about spiritual direction that is the best thing I have found online about it: rcspiritualdirection.com/

My pastor is my spiritual director but I think I would like someone different. It is very difficult to find a good one. These resources will help you even if you don’t find one.

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to you do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
Your eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Amen
