This is a real problem for some people, so:
For the people afflicted with ear and/or mind worms, may they have peace.

I did not realize there were people on Alpha Centauri, but earworms can be quite irritating even here on Earth. This is a real problem for some people, so:

I think Jozefo is having a little fun. His signature line is a clue.Say, how are you defining ear worms? My only association with this has been positive. As in the tune of a hymn, or a line of the hymn that keeps running in your head, or a phrase of scripture that lingers for several days. I really see these as blessings. The context here seems different. Help!
I’ve known two people who were afflicted by these things. They continually hear music over and over and over. Just recently, a person very close to me was complaining about it, that it has been worrying that she was going insane. The music never stops. I told her that it’s not unheard of, and reminded her that we had another relative who complained of the same thing in her later years.Say, how are you defining ear worms? Oh this is no joke. As for my signature, I just got tired of having to say something about my opinions being only opinions. I look at some things quite differently than most people, and my opinions tend to bother some of them.I think Jozefo is having a little fun. His signature line is a clue.
If true, and I now don’t doubt you are being serious, then the issue would seem more related to attention deficit disorder (ADD) since these individuals seem to have difficulties with the capacity to focus on what they intend to focus on and are, instead, being carried along by internal “stimuli.” Perhaps the answer is to positively develop or practice focus rather than passively allow oneself to be preoccupied by what need not be so bothersome. In other words, taking control of the internal mental stream rather than be carried off by it, akin to learning to swim rather than floundering in one’s thoughts.I’ve known two people who were afflicted by these things. This is very bothersome to the people suffering it. I’m very serious about this problem, and feel sad that there’s nothing that can be done about it.
You may be right, but both the people I have experience with are/were on medications that interfered with mental acuity. I suggested to both to try focusing on something else, but invariably the music returns. One took to turning the tv on very loud, and trying to sleep that way. I’m sure God can fix it.I’m very serious about this problem, and feel sad that there’s nothing that can be done about it.
