God graced me with a wonderful prayer intention from a sad thought I have a lot
Whenever I’m at church I see old people sometimes with a slight frown and almost cry thinking about
how it must feel to wonder at night if you will wake up or get so see your grandchildren or children or over loved ones again on earth.

They face a real battle with faith and believing that if they be in grace death with result in happiness and isn’t the end.

Sometimes when I mortally sin and feel useless I wish I could give my years to these wonderful people who beg God for their next day when I sometimes dread waking up.

Please pray for smiles and hope for our wonderful Elderly
I apologize for the long story but I felt details were helpful

Our Elderly have suffered a lot and have to something very tough at death so since we can’t always directly help
Lets is send our prayers please I really feel for these poor souls

You make it sound so dreary!! I am pushing 80 and I am more at peace now than I think I ever have been, I have time to say many more prayers for my family etc. and I love my memories of when the kids and grandkids were young. I love looking at old pictures. I know they have busy lives raising their families etc, I did too when I was young. I have learned so much over the years, enjoy going to daily Mass and have 4 Holy Hours a week. I think the young folks need “our” prayers as they have a tough world to grow in. So lets
“Old Folks” pray our hearts out for the young ones so we can all be together someday in the arms of our Lord. TRUST HIM !!! God Bless, Memaw

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

I’m glad you are happy
I was really talking about the sad ones I see at my church and any that I don’t see
You are right a lot of young people like me sometimes are doing really dumb things
Lets pray for everyone lol

I pray for my father, who is 91. Even his advanced years as a widower, he has a strong faith. May his life be an example to others.

Amen.

Maybe the sad look is not for themselves but for someone they love. I have a very dear friend and neighbor, (for 35 years) suffering from serious cancer, and another friend (for over 40 years), in hospice. I will miss them so much, so that makes me sad… This week we just buried another friend from Church. But all are very faithful and that makes me thankful. At our age, we loose so many. Prayers for all. God Bless, Memaw

St. Thérèse of Liseux Prayer From “Story of A Soul”

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen. †

Lord, thank you that you are with me right now.
Your love surpasses all fear.
I give you the anxiety I feel.
I surrender all my worries to you.
Clear my mind;
Calm my heart;
Still my Spirit;
Relax my being, that, I may
always glorify you in everything
I write, speak and do.

Amen. †

Jesus, Help Me

In every need let me come to Thee with humble trust, saying,
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations,
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials,
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles and sorrows,
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good come from my efforts,
Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Thy grace alone can assist me,
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Thy tender love as Father and Savior,
Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me,
Jesus, help me!

When sickness and loneliness overcome me,
Jesus, help me!

Always, in weakness, falls and shortcomings of every kind,
Jesus, help me and never forsake me.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.

Amen. †

Sweet Heart of Jesus, be my love.
Sweet Heart of my Jesus, grant that I may always love You more.
Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us, set our hearts on fire with love of You.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like Your Heart.

Amen. †

Prayers said. All will be well. Do not fear, the Lord is protecting you.
Do not be lonely, your guardian angel is beside you.
Be comforted, Mother will watch over you, and the
Holy Spirit will guide you.

Amen. †

Prayer Against Depression
………….By St Ignatius of Loyola

O Christ Jesus
When all is darkness
And we feel our weakness and helplessness,
Give us the sense of Your Presence,
Your Love and Your Strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
In Your protecting love
And strengthening power,
So that nothing may frighten or worry us,
For, living close to You,
We shall see Your Hand,
Your Purpose, Your Will through all things.

Amen.

†

Let Nothing Disturb You

Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.

Patience,
Obtains all things,
Whoever has God
Lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Santa Teresa de Jesús
(Santa Teresa de Ávila)

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.

Amen.

Prayer for the Elderly

Lord God, you are the one who grants us the days of our lives and fills them with your loving care. We praise you for the many years and countless blessings that you have given. Yet Lord, as the many days and years have passed, we grow weary and long to be in your presence. Strengthen us with the reminder that our days are in your hands and our purpose in this life comes from you. When things seem tiring help us focus our eyes on You, to trust your timing and plans. Fill our minds and hearts with thankful thoughts, pleasant memories and quiet contentment. Your grace and the forgiveness of sins are blessings that alone are enough to sustain us. Let all that Jesus has done be the first thought of the morning, the foundation of the day and the comfort each evening. Thank you Lord, for the privilege of laying our hearts and concerns in your hands and for your promises that comfort and strengthen us each day. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Good idea, to pray for them! St. Catherine Laboure, pray for us!
Yes, please pray for us, but just remember not all of us are dreading the day we meet Our Lord. I wouldn’t trade places with all the young folks on earth. God has brought me to this point and I am sure HE will be with me till the end. I have had a few mountains to climb, death of 2 husbands, two baby sons, my parents, 2 brothers, as well as many others. My best friend and neighbor for 35 years, is now dying of cancer. God has been with me all along and His Holy Church is my guide. Some days I didn’t think I could face the next, but HE was always there for me to get me through it and help my children. One of my sons, (who had already been thru the death of his own father), said to me, “Mama, why do our Daddies always have to die??” I have sooo much to look forward to and I believe I can pray for my family till then and even after. My kids and most of my grandkids are adults and I pray I don’t ever become a burden on them, so yes, pray for us as we accept God’s will in all things. God Bless, Memaw

Praying…

*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen.*

You are very insightful
You are truly blessed
I wish I knew why they looked so gloom to I could try to help
I don’t like seeing sad faces on strangers I like to see a happy public
That’s why I like to be funny and make jokes because seeing people smile is such a great thing
Hopefully our prayers raise their spirits

Yes, we should pray for the elderly, esp.
those in nursing homes and group homes
that they will have ppl to visit them, that they
will feel WANTED and LOVED.

Our Father, who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your Name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as
we forgive those who trespass against us,
(forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors),
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen. (X3)
