For Ex-Mormons : Just Curious

A while ago, i regularly saw 2-3 young men in white & black clothing walking pass by my house. And in several ocassions, i saw the same persons at the other side of my city.
That went on for months, than replaced by a different group. Later i knew they were mormon missionaries.
I think they had some success because one time i saw a few busses for a trip.
What is the policy of the mormons regarding missions, cause the earlier groups where westerners ( which is an odd scene in my neighbourhood ), later they were locals with one westerner ( and i think they are only in their early twenties, maybe younger ), who’s their main target ?

how’s your retreat ?

about the mormons, i dont really know…
they walked long distances and sometimes used the public transportation ( angkot ) from one random place to another, mainly from housing projects to not so-crowded city streets
i heard that they’ll hand a flyer if you greeted them, and targeted curious christians
my church had a seminar about mormonism, but i didnt attend it

this happened like 1-2 years ago and i rarely see them
maybe now they are locals and dont use uniforms anymore

btw, i was just curious 🤷

I know about Jehova witness but I don’t know yet about mormons are already here

Anybody who will listen. Usually it is in pairs on bikes or on foot going door-to-door, but sometimes you get a three-some. Their day starts early and ends somewhere around 10 o’clock. Their object is to get you to read the Book of Mormon and try to get you to take the lessons (there are six) to become a Mormon too, Of course, they fail to tell you what they really believe until after you’ve been dunked (that’s known as “milk before meat”). And yes, they are young–usually right out of high school (there can be a girl pair too, but they are usually over 21.) The young guys feel great pressure to go on a mission–it lasts about two years and at least the ones around here can be moved around every six months or so during those two years. (Think the girl’s missions are only 18 months.)

Oh the boys are know as “Elder” and the girls are known as “Sister”.
 
Oh, I forgot to add that the Missionaries will try to tell you that it’s all about your free choice to practice any religion you choose. Of course they conveniently forget that if that was so, they wouldn’t be knocking at your door trying to get you to become LDS (Mormon) 😉 And they don’t tell you that it is all about wresting you from your family so you will have nothing in common with them or the regular culture. (I guess they/re like the JWs in that.)

No quite. The mormons are doing just what Paul said a believer should do: evangelize. The mormons are active in evangelization just like Paul said a christian should do. If you read the new testament you will see that christians had an obligation to share the good word.

In the early days, many people left the pagan faith and joined the christians. I am sure that this did not go down well inside pagan families either. What does mormonism have in common with catholicism? A belief in god. I have known mormon converts who have been disowned because they joined the mormon faith. And no where in the mormon faith is it encouraged to leave your family ties when that person joins the lds faith.

I remember when my convert to Mormonism daughter informed me that LDS believe that Jesus is just a god. I almost lost my breath!
