For those who don’t know, FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) is a missionary organization serving students on 99 college campuses across the United States, with many more being served by their “Digital Campus” team.

These missionaries give up at least 2 years of their lives to lead others to a personal relationship with Christ and His Church, inspiring and equipping them for a lifelong mission of discipleship and friendship in which they lead others to do the same. First year missionaries also commit to a dating fast for the duration of their first year of service. All missionaries, and many of their support staff fundraise their own salaries. Some continue to serve for many years while at the same time starting families.

I was once a FOCUS missionary, and I currently support five of my fellow missionaries with a small financial gift each month. Today I received the first of their quarterly newsletters sent out to their mission partners.

It is for that reason that I am reminded to ask you to pray for them. Please pray for all 500+ FOCUS missionaries and their families, students and mission partners. Pray especially for the missionaries serving at Wayne State and my former teammates at Nebraska - Omaha.

Thank you all!

St. Francis Xavier, PRAY FOR US!
St. Therese of Liseux, PRAY FOR US!

Praying that the Lord may bless these missionaries and grant them great success. Also praying for all your intentions for them.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer For Missionaries

O almighty God,
Lord of the harvest of souls,
we ask You to guide and bless all
who have gone forth to preach the gospel.
Endow them with the gifts of generosity and concern.
Send your Holy Spirit on them,
that He may strengthen them in weakness,
comfort them in trials and direct their efforts.
May He open the hearts of their hearers
to receive Your message.
Let Your revelation enlighten all minds
for the salvation of souls,
and let Your love heal every heart and body
for the happiness of each person.
May all people consciously acknowledge You
and serve You by living the teachings of Your Son.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

On a related note, please pray for Michelle Duppong. Michelle is a former FOCUS missionary battling cancer.

She has asked, specifically, for prayers through the intercession of Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati.

Her story can be found here.

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of thy Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee;
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.
  • O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.*
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen
