O God, You are the best of gardeners; for in Your garden are roses and lilies, violets and daisies. You give them the best of drinks: the Precious Blood and Water of Jesus Christ, which washes away every stain of sin and renews strength and life to the soul. You warm Your flowers with the rays of the Son, those graces which He won for souls by His death on a cross, and You breath on Your flowers with the spiration of Your Spirit, who rests over them just as He rested over the formless earth before creation and rested over Jesus at His baptism. May Your garden grow each day, O my Lord, and become ever more beautiful and wondrous, that all those who see it may give You praise and glory and may become a new flower for You. Amen.

Dear Lord, I’m but one single blade of grass… growing in the very farthest corner of Your garden. I’m small, and insignificant. I bear no resemblance to the glorious beauty of the flowers which surround me. I blend in, with the other blades of grass.

Yet, with trust and confidence… I hope to grow upward toward You, my Radiant Sun. My Beloved Divine Gardener; I know that even the lowly blades of grass are loved by You. And so I’m happy in my distant corner of Your garden. I wait with joy… for Your approach… that I may be a cushion for Your Divine Step. For I know that I will be loved and cared for. Amen.

Love’s Vision Chapter 2

I am a flower of Sharon, a lilly of the vally.
As a lilly amoung thorns,
so is my beloved among women.
As an apple tree among the trees of the
woods,
so is my lover among men.
I delight to rest in his shadow,
and his fruit is sweet to my mouth.
He brings me into the banquet hall,
and his emblem over me is love.
Strengthen me with raisin cakes,
refresh me with apples,
for I am faint with love.
His left hand is under my head,
and his right arm embraces me./
I adjure you daughters of Jerusalem/
by the gazelles and hinds* of the fields,
Do not arouse, do not stir up love
before its own time.
