Hi,

In going to school, I have realized that I have a very hard time concentrating and focusing on my schoolwork, or any kind of work for that matter. I find myself always distracted, and my mind wanders while I am trying to read, study, or write. I also have trouble organizing my thoughts. Thus, it is very difficult for me to concentrate, focus, and organize my thoughts in writing papers. I am a very good writer, but focusing for extended periods on one topic and sticking with one idea, are very difficult for me. I also know that many other people have the same struggles as I am. Could you please pray, asking God to help me with concentration, focus, organizing my thoughts, and doing my schoolwork efficiently and thoroughly. It takes me forever to do things that should only take a short period of time, because I can’t focus on what I am doing. When I go to a 4 year school, I can’t afford to take so long just to finish one assignment, because I am going to be taking multiple classes that involve lots of reading and writing. I need to be able to use my time better, to focus, concentrate, organize my thoughts, and write quality papers. Thank you for any prayers for me, and others who struggle with these difficulties.

I have had the same problem while saying the Rosary for years. I thought it was attention deficit disorder but my nephew, who is a devout Catholic says this is quite common. I still feel guilt and chastise myself mentally for this. Is my Rosary still a valid prayer or does this lack of concentration make it invalid?

Have you ever heard of the phrase “You have a one track mind”?
Boys hear that a LOT, however the “one” track is usually SEX.
So, you can have very intense concentration on what you
REALLY love, what you eat, sleep and dream about, ask
the Lord to help you have THAT kind of concentration on
the subject at hand.

Hail holy queen, Mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope,
to you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve,
to you do we lift up our sighs, mourning and weeping
in this Valley of Tears. Turn, then most gracious Advocate,
your eyes of mercy towards us, and after this our exile
