Hi,

For a long time, I have been thinking about writing something, but not knowing what to write about. I think I may possibly have a subject to write about. I think God wants me to write about Jesus. I am going to pray on this for a while, but please pray that I am receptive to whatever ideas God wants me to think and write about, and that if He wants me to write something about Jesus, that I am able to do so. Everyone tells me I am a great writer, and should write more, and I haven’t been sure what to write about. I don’t really want to write about theology or philosophy, but more about Jesus, and perhaps other people as well. But please pray that I write something worth reading, which edifies and inspires others to do good things and follow God’s will.

O Creator of the universe, who has set the stars
in the heavens and causes the sun to rise and set,
shed the light of your wisdom into the darkness of my mind.
Fill my thoughts with the loving knowledge of you,
that I may bring your light to others. Just as you can make
even babies speak your truth, instruct my tongue
and guide my pen to convey the wonderful glory of the Gospel.

Prayer for Humility

Jesus, help me to be authentically humble
in the challenges of each day. Teach me
what it means to be humble. Help me
to wait my turn to speak and to be at peace
when others outshine me. Grant that I may listen
with a spirit of objectivity rather than an ‘I know it all’ attitude.
Lord, grant that I not only be content with who I am,
but have confidence that your grace can make me better!
Help me to be obedient without resentment and ready
to do Your Will. I ask that You make up for whatever
I lack and increase those desires within me that lead
to true humility. Most of all, help me to believe in your revelations,
hope in Your word and love you more than myself.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine!

Here is what I was taught in college and in creative writing. Write what you know. As you are young and don’t want to write about theology or philosophy you should consider what you know. How about a heart-felt prayer book? How about writing about Jesus in a way that little children can understand and follow?

To write you must start. Sit down and start. Let the pen flow. The ideas will come, esp. if they are inspired. Set aside a time out of each day just for writing…say like an hour or a half hour. There are several methods of writing. Know some basic ground rules such as in writing in the first, second or third person. Go to it:thumbsup: P. S. If you are not inspired in some way, then ask for the inspiration, will and discipline for writing according to the will of the Holy Spirit. Praying for you.
