My friend Holly passed away last night. She was ill. She was a good friend. I only knew her for a year. She is part of a Protestant church that is very much against praying for the dead. I am asking for your prayers that her soul my find rest. She loved Jesus.
Thank you.

Saying a prayer for Holly. May she know an eternity of joy in the presence of her beloved Lord Jesus.

Praying for Holly:
Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amoungst women,
And blessed is the fruit of Thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of death,
Amen:signofcross:

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

I am sorry for the loss of your friend and the pain that brings. @ :console:
May Holly be resting in the peace of God’s loving arms.

Blessed Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful-
Mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us-
Give your aid to all needing help or healing-
Assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering-
Be with those needing peace-
Console the lonely or brokenhearted-
Comfort the lost or hopeless-
Strengthen the fearful-
Guard the unborn-
Pray for those who are dying or who have died-
Soften those with hardened hearts-
Enlighten those who do not yet see truth-
Help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go-
Show us the way to do the right thing-
Protect those who are in danger, and
Guide us from every evil.
May all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen :gopray2:

Praying for the repose of the soul of your friend, Holly,
*Réquiem æternam dona ei, Dómine, et lux perpétua lúceat ei.

Anima eius, et ánimæ ómnium fidélium defunctórum,
*
  • per misericórdiam Dei requiéscant in pace.
Amen.

and consolation for you and her family and friends.

*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen*.

May Holly’s soul rest in peace in the arms of Jesus and Mary.

I will bring her before the Blessed Sacrament when I next do Adoration.

If I may suggest something: When I was in Junior High, a girl in the grade after me died of juvenile diabetes. I found that every time at Mass since then (and it’s been decades), when they reach the part where we remember those who have died, I felt inspired to offer her name.

About a year ago, I decided to do something about it, and arranged to have a Mass said for her. A month or so later, during Mass, I realized that I had not felt inspired to offer her name ever since I had a Mass said for her.

Based on this plus some statements by St. Padre Pio, I would urge you to have a Mass said for Holly.

Praying for Holly, as well as for you. May she rest in peace!

Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, for those in my own home and in my family. Amen.

Praying for Holly, and for you. You are a good friend and I’m sorry for the loss you are suffering. :grouphug:

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth. Amen.

In your hands, O Lord,
we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters.
In this life you embraced them with your tender love;
deliver them now from every evil
and bid them eternal rest.

The old order has passed away:
welcome them into paradise,
where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain,
but fullness of peace and joy
with your Son and the Holy Spirit
forever and ever.
Amen.

Now she doesnt only have you, she has all of us too praying for her! Prayers.
