For my friend’s son James, a young man with Crohn’s disease. He’s having a particularly difficult time these days and his meds aren’t working. Please keep him in your prayers.

Blessed Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful-
Mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us-
Give your aid to all needing help or healing-
Assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering-
Be with those needing peace-
Console the lonely or brokenhearted-
Comfort the lost or hopeless-
Strengthen the fearful-
Guard the unborn-
Pray for those who are dying or who have died-
Soften those with hardened hearts-
Enlighten those who do not yet see truth-
Help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go-
Show us the way to do the right thing-
Protect those who are in danger, and
Guide us from every evil.
May all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen

Praying for James for relief of the symptoms of Crohn’s disease.

Mary.

:gopray:

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning is now ever shall be world without end
Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

:signofcross:

Prayer to St. Luke:

Most charming and saintly Physician, you were animated by the heavenly Spirit of love. In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, you also showed His divinity and His genuine compassion for all human beings. Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day.

Amen.

Thank you to everyone who is praying. The young man you are praying for has written a post that he has given us permission to share. He’s 19 and has just been put on total parenteral nutrition to build up his body so that he can have the surgery he so desperately needs. This is the second young person in my circle that has gone through this.

Here’s James in his own words:
Crohn’s and colitis ruined my life, creating these traps called food that I used to love, making me feel welcome until I’m sitting for 2 hours, feeling my whole body begin to hurt from retching and heaving.
8 jobs, I have been through 8 jobs because of my condition, 8 jobs in just under 4 years, as I would start a new job, I would feel healthy, comfortable and able to work, one or two weeks in, I would have to call in sick because I can’t leave the bathroom, I have had to call my parents from work washrooms to bring a change of cloths because I couldn’t make it to the bathroom. The many mornings where I would wake up and have to literally run to the bathroom but at all costs would never make it in time.
I’m sick, and I am tired of being sick and being tired. Being put on Steroids that make me want to argue with everyone and gives me such a short temper, that dropping a pen makes me want to leave a room. I have missed countless family events, weddings, birthday parties, get togethers, meetings and so much more.
None of this is meant to sound rude toward anyone that has tried to help me along the way, or even bystanders that may have had no idea of what I have, this is me saying that I could never have done any of this alone.
I have been told news that I am inflamed from the start to finish of my intestinal track in my large intestines, this means I will most likely have to get it removed, giving me a colostomy bag (google it). This idea of having major surgery, when the only surgery I have had in my whole life was on my big toe.
The ideas of what could come out of this scare me so much more then what I should be looking at, I am 125.6 LBS and I was told that if I had the surgery now, I wouldn’t make it. This thought, ever so small creeps up on my in my dazed mind before bed, thinking of the worst, and nothing but.
I am scared, but I’m not afraid to hide it anymore, I’m done being ashamed of what random people will think, and of what people I do know will start to think, it’s pathetic and childish, think before you speak, and think hard before you finish your thought.
I’m done hiding.

Almighty and Eternal God, the everlasting salvation of those who believe hear us, for Thy sick, for whom we implore the aid of Thy tender mercy that being restored to bodily health, they may give thanks to Thee in Thy church, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

May Jesus, the Son of Mary, the Lord and Redeemer of the world, through the merits and intercession of His holy Apostle Jude, and all His saints, show us favor and mercy. Amen.

May the Lord bless and heal James.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (James). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into James’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (James), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. James has had his surgery and recovery is going well. He’s now able to eat with little pain and has started to gain weight. He no longer looks gaunt and emaciated. He’s still has a ways to go before he’s able to resume a normal life, but things are definitely looking positive. As devastating as it can be to a 19 year old’s body image to suddenly find yourself with a permanent colostomy, it will allow him to live relatively pain-free from now on. But he will be on medication for the rest of his life to keep the disease under control.
