Please pray for my sisters and I who have developed so many hard feelings over the past several years while caring for our elderly parents. The ones who do the least “instruct” those who work the hardest. Those who “work the hardest” are angry at the constant badgering they are getting. We’re all tired. All trying so hard to focus on my parents. My mother passed away in May but my father is still living. He is a handful – needs a lot of hand holding and constant attention although he is not ill. I am not sure that the hard feelings can go away – but I pray that we at least have peace among us.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Prayer For Peace from the Catholic Family Prayer Book
Merciful Father,
We are together on Earth, alone in the universe.
Look at us and help us to love one another.
Teach us to understand each other,
just as you understand us.
Make our souls as fresh as the morning.
Make our hearts as innocent as the Lamb.
May we forgive each other, and forget the past,
and may we have peace inside - and in our world.
Today and forever.
Amen.

Praying for you! Many of us have dealt with, or are dealing with, issues of elderly or ill parents, and you are not alone.

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
