My Aunt Ramona’s daughter finally had to put her in a nursing home. She is 89 now, and her children can’t care for her because of their own health. She has been deteriorating mentally for awhile, such as calling her daughter by my late Mother’s name. And she gets up out of bed and falls. She’s very weak and shaky. More of what was said sounds like Altzheimer’s to me, though that word wasn’t said in the letter that informed us where Aunt was these days.

I don’t even know what to ask you to pray for. Just that God will care for her and be gentle with her, I guess. I would hate to see her suffer more. She was doing well till her husband died several years ago.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee,
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Always difficult when our loved ones get to this stage. Praying for your Aunt and your family…

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Lord, support us as we pray to you, and keep us day and night under your protection.
Guide us as we live in this world of change,
and let your own unchangeability be a firm foundation for us.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
Amen.

May the Lord bless us and keep us from all harm; and may he lead us to eternal life.

Thank you all so much for your prayers! I know Aunt Remee, as we call her would appreciate them greatly, if she were herself.
