Guess what? This isn’t for Mitch again:D 😃 (please keep him in your prayers anyway)

My brother is getting married in August and Dad isn’t going, and my stepmom likely will not attend. The reasons are not financial/work related (though my dad is claiming this for himself).

My brother is a typical son, always wanting to please Daddy, make Daddy proud of him…him not attending infuriates all of us, but it is breaking my brother’s heart (though he’s only expressing anger…us “kids” tend to not let our true emotions show).

If one of them doesn’t come, the my sister will also not be there, as she was going to fly with them. I’d love to pay her way, but I have a car that she crashed that I’ve been getting fixed, plus I’ll likely end up paying my mother’s way in addition to mine.

Dad and Julie (stepmom) are uncomfortable around my mother (Mom was willing to **not **attend just so they would, though my brother and I both advised against this). Julie may be a little uncomfortable around me (especially if Daddy’s not there) because she and I really went at it earlier this year.

Please pray for a change of heart for our father, and comfort for my brother (should God choose not to soften Daddy’s heart). Thank you all and God Bless.

I will pray for your intentions in my rosary tonight.

God Bless

Most merciful Lord in Heaven, look with immense love upon Latinmasslover’s Dad, causing him to reflect on his hardness of heart during this once in a lifetime event. After careful reflection, may he recall the love he has for his son, and may his heart turn from hardness to vulnerabililty, as You made Yourself vulnerable for our sake. You called on each of us to deny ourselves. We ask that You inspire Dad to deny himself and set any pride, anger or disappointment aside. Blessed Lord, it is through introspection that we notice the void in our souls which can only be filled by Your love. May Dad recognize that void, and desire to be made conplete in Your eyes. We humbly ask this in Your Heavenly, Holy and Eternal Name. Amen! Alleluia!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

You poor thing, it sounds like you are the glue that is holding everyone and everything together. My dh’s family sounds a little like yours. When my dh and I were going to get married, my MIL almost did not go, even though she was the one in the same state as the wedding for fear of seeing her ex, my dh’s dad who had to fly in from Michigan. Anyway, my dh was also disppointed that his dad did not come to our wedding. I think he did it so that he did not have to see his ex and to have my MIL come. So in a way, he sacrificed not going. The same happened again, when one of my BIL’s was going to get married and this time the dad was going, so my MIL who had to fly to their state almost did not go either for fear of seeing or even being around her ex. She told her son that she was not going. I had a talk with her and so did her husband and at the last minute she went. She surprised her son. She did not go to the reception, but was there for the wedding.

I will pray so that your father will see how important this is to your brother and hope that peace between your mother and father can happen. I know with my dh’s parents, it won’t for they both refuse to forgive one another and talk about each other to us in a bad way, my MIL more than my FIL. It is a sad situation. I will say that since my MIL joined the Presybeterian church, she is changing for the better and even admits she is working on forgiving all that her ex did to her. My FIL is just recently remarried about 16 years single and is very happy and also going to the same church, but in a different state. He too is seeing that his first marriage was a huge mistake for they argued so much. He says he has yet to fight with his new wife and they have been married now for two years. He too is working on forgiving all the “lies” his ex is saying about him after the divorce.

Even if your father doesn’t go, please tell your brother not to allow that to spoil a day that should be a happy and joyful one. I will pray also for your brother and his wife to be for a happy and holy marriage. I will also pray for you to have the wisdom, patience and words for everyone involved. Everything will work out in the end. It may not be before the wedding and even could be years, but it will eventually. Hang in there.

Saint Rita of Cascia, I pray you intercede for this family, for the glory of Jesus and the wellbeing of all of them. Amen

PRAISE GOD!

Thank you all for your prayers, it appears my our father is softening up. Now he “may” be going, whereas before it was an absolute “no, I can’t make it.” Please conintue to say a little prayer here and there, whenever you happen to think about it.🙂

Praying…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Lord Jesus Christ knows that the cause of peace would be served by your father’s attendance, and so has sent the Holy Spirit to work on him. Expect results! Praise God!

Christ’s peace.

Praying. I do hope that your father’s heart will continue to soften.

DAD IS GOING TO THE WEDDING! DAD IS GOING TO THE WEDDING!
PRAISE GOD

Thank you all so much. My sister won’t be able to (my dad and stepmom have 9 cats and my sister will be taking care of them…My brother wanted Dad to be the best man…I wish my sister could come, but considering the circumstances, I think it’s more important for Daddy to be there for my brother, though she will be sorely missed. Still, DEO GRATIAS!

That is prayer in action. Thank you Lord for changing this man’s heart. This is absolutely wonderful and I am happy for all of you.
