For my cat Montgomery's return to health

My 12 year old cat Montgomery was diagnosed with diabetes a few months ago, and my family thought we were managing his condition well with insulin injections.

However, over the past few days he has gotten weaker, constipated, won’t eat and is generally lethargic. We took him to the vet today again today and he has to be hospitalized for the next few days because he has ketoacidosis, a life threatening complication with a high mortality rate. He is being treated with IV fluid therapy, insulin and symptomatic care, and when my brother visited him after work he said he seemed more alert and was eating (a good sign).

It is my hope that God spares him for a little while longer. He seems to be comfortable, outside of this acute incident. I know God’s will be done, but if you can please send prayers for his recovery, and pray for us, I would be so grateful. He’s such a sweet, good-natured boy. I’ve never loved an animal like him and had him since I was in college, my heart is so full to think of losing him. Thank you.
 
Praying for your dear kitty Montgomery. Dear Jesus, I ask in Your name to please help this kitty get well if it be God’s will.

(If you haven’t switched to an all-wet-food diet for Montgomery, you should. Had a diabetic cat myself for years)

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Montgomery). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Montgomery’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Thank you all so much for your prayers. He’s doing better today. I’m not sure he’s totally out of the woods but he definitely seems stabilized for the time being. Please keep up the prayers. God bless you all.

precious cat. If it is Your will, Lord, restore this cat to full

(Oh, this is painfully relatable. One of my dear cats had to be euthanised after suffering with diabetes a few months ago. I pray that your kitty returns to health.)

for all the wistful creatures in captivity,
that beat their wings against bars;
for any that are hunted or lost or deserted,

Thank you…he’s doing much better and although he’s slowed down a considerable bit, he’s acting like himself again.

So sorry to hear of your cat. It’s a sad thing to go through, and I’m not looking forward to it.
