Hi,
My cousin Stephen died 20 years ago on Ash Wednesday. He was 16 years old. I was 14. He was my best friend at the time. Neither of us was practicing Catholic back then. Years later when I starting learning about and practicing the Catholic faith, it came to my attention that he died on Ash Wednesday. Since discovering this, Ash Wednesday can be painful emotionally. I often cry that day every year. I have prayed a lot for him that he is in Heaven, but I really just want to make sure. And if he is already in Heaven, I hope these prayers will be applied to someone else who needs them. Please say a prayer for my cousin Stephen, that he is in Heaven. Thank you for any prayers for him. I know 20 years might be a long time, but I love him and miss him a great deal. Wish I could have some knowledge that he is in Heaven. I just know God loves him a great deal.
Thank you for any prayers.
God bless you . Amen.

My sincere condolences on the loss of your cousin and best friend, Stephen.

Eternal rest grant unto Stephen, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

I will put Stephen down for a plenary indulgence. I try to obtain one every day for a specific deceased soul as a daily devotion.

I would suggest that you sincerely ask God that, if it be His will, He please let you know that Stephen is all right or otherwise set your mind at ease. God has been very kind and helpful when I have prayed similar prayers about my deceased loved ones.
God bless.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Praying for your intention. Lord, help him to have peace about his cousin Stephen. Help him to know that you love Stephen infinitely more than he or anyone else ever could. And you desire his salvation even more. And that with God all things are possible. You are not bound to act only in the Sacraments. So we pray for Stephen’s soul and we pray for peace of mind for the OP. Benny.

Philippians 4:6-7 : Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
