UPDATE: Rachel is scheduled for surgery tomorrow. They’re going to do what is called a Girdlestone procedure. Right now, from lack of use, her legs are curled tight against her body. This operation will loosen her hips so her legs will lie straight. This is being done so that when they go in and reconnect her tubes from her kidneys to her bladder, they will be able to position her better on the table and it should make that operation easier. For a Sick Child
St. Gerard, who, like the Savior, loved children so tenderly and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death, listen to us who are pleading for our sick child. We thank God for the great gift of Rachel and ask him to restore this child to health if such be his holy will. This favor, we beg of you through your love for all children and mothers. Amen.

Great news! Rachels surgery went so well that we’re home already. Also, it seems I got my wires crossed on Rose. It was her daughter that was having surgery and it wasn’t heart surgery. It had something to do with her ribcage, but I’m not sure what. Our daughters surgeries were at the same time in the same hospital so we goit to sit in the waiting room together. That was very comforting. I’m happy to say that her surgery went well too.
