In the beginning of my journey, I didn’t think I would ever lose my passion for my faith. Unfortunately, I have. Like a forbidden fruit, sometimes I wish that how I spent this life had no eternal significance, because I’m scared of eternal suffering. I wish that I didn’t have to tell myself that my situations aren’t mortal sins to make my fear go away. I wish that I could pray to God to take my sins away instead of obsessing over whether I should go to Confession this week. I wish I could go over to Purgatory and suffer there until the end of time, just so I could know I was saved.

Finally, I wish I could change my mindset on this. Please pray for me.

The Saints tell us “Do not fear Divine Justice too much, it is an insult to Divine Mercy”. Remember God is as merciful as He is Just. Christ tells us in the chaplet of Divine Mercy that whoever does not enter through the doors of His mercy must enter through the doors of His justice.

My friend, I too have fallen far from God but I have been brought back by God. Look into/research Divine Mercy and especially the Divine Mercy chaplet. I think you will find it most comforting and helpful…

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Saying prayers for you.

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to you.
Most loving Heart of Jesus,
bring me health in body and spirit
that I may serve You with all my strength.
Touch gently this life which you have created,
now and forever. Amen.

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom in your time of need.

If you are this freaked out by everything, YES, GO TO CONFESSION. There should be no doubt at all whether or not you should go! You may have reasonable fears, you may be suffering from scruples, but DEFINITELY go to Confession. Jesus gave us it for a reason. 🙂 Fear not; He is a loving God as well as a just one.

Father in Heaven, look upon Your children, and see us for who we are. We have ruined Your plans, we have killed Your Son, and yet You still love us. You still retrieve us from the ends of the world, You still provide for the birds and the flowers of the field, and You still keep Your Church safe; to be untouched by the gates of hell. You are loving, You are kind, You are merciful. Have mercy on us, Oh Marvelous One, Creator of all, Ender of All, Alpha, Omega. You are the only one to which I can turn; Hold me close to Your heart, for I can go nowhere else. Amen.

Prayer For Strong Faith

God our Father,
you conquer the darkness of ignorance
by the light of your Word.
Strengthen within our hearts
the faith you have given us;
let not temptation ever quench the fire
that your love has kindled within us.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. AMEN

*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen.*

Not by everything, just the things that (in my mind) could fall either way on the venial/mortal side. Of course, if I knew an action was mortal, I wouldn’t do it, but I don’t want that thought to cause me to slip up somehow.

As King Charles’ horses and men couldn’t put Humpty together (the supergun of its day), may our better King send His cavalry (more of His people) into your life so you can be helped to grow in healthful assertion in your own affairs.

In addition to us here on the forum, may there be more of such in your life in person.

Our Father said.

Praying for you.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen
