I am a Neophyte this year - a new convert, freshly Baptized, Confirmed, and newly recieving Communion (pretty much daily now).

I am a convert from paganism and unitarian universalism.

and I am struggling so much right now… sometimes I am so sure of my faith, and other times - like right now - all I feel is … have I gone crazy? what made me walk away from all I had? WHY won’t I meditate now like I used to, when I was pagan and a wiccan? I feel a continual calling back to the place from whence I came to Jesus… and then I feel Jesus telling me to stay

and I feel torn in two

and I’m trying my utmost to ignore it or banish it. I’ve prayed to St. Michael to defend me - I’ve begged my Guardien Angel to banish these daemons that tempt me, to protect me from them… sometimes I am afraid of them and other times I want to ask their forgiveness and return to sin in them… I haven’t. I won’t. I hope. I am begging Jesus to protect me.

I am going for spiritual direction soon (Friday or Monday, whenever there’s time) because I can’t keep handling these doubts/difficulties alone…

please pray for me until then… :crying: 😦 I really need prayers and protection for my newfound faith and for myself not to be tempted to doubt or apostacy when I only just converted. I won’t apostize no matter what the pain or agony. just I need some help.

begging the assistance of the Saints, Angels, and all of her Catholic family,
Esther Rose

Behold my beloved Jesus, your faithful servant is being weighed down under the burden of trials and sufferings. May she cast herself at your feet, that you may renew her strength and courage. Permit her to lay down her cross in your Sacred Heart, for only your infinite goodnes an sustain her; only your love can help her to bear this cross. O Divine King, Jesus, whos heart is so compassionat to the afflicted, She wishes to live in you; suffer and die in you. During her life, be her model and support; at the hour of her death, be her refuge. AMEN

Hey Rose. I am glad I came upon your post. I think I can help. About 12 years ago someone my family knew had a little boyfriend that said he didnt believe in God. They were young teenagers. I looked at my dad and said to him “I cannot believe he doesn’t see what I see, I can’t believe he doesn’t believe in God, how could he not?” My dad laughed at me and he said, “I’m not worried that he doesn’t believe in God. It’s not that he doesnt believe in God, even though he says it, it’s just that he hasn’t found him yet, trust me one day he will.” I never looked at people who were athiest the same way again. Here’s the thing, Wiccan religion is just that, a religion. now it depends on who your talking to if they recognize that as a religion. To be Wiccan means you believe in something, some sort of higher power, more related to nature -godesses and so on, same as paganism. Now you just need to really ask yourself which higher form of being do you believe in. The wind and a tree or an amazing spirit that created the wind and trees. Am I just worm food when I die or surely there has to be more than this;after all --is life on earth really all that great consistently on a daily basis? There has got to be more.If you cant believe that then you will depress yourself. Now here’s the second thing: Everything in moderaton. You never want to go too crazy on any extremes then you burn yourself out on it. Think about it: If you were God, would you want people to flock, pray, come to you out of resentful obligation, fear etc,or because they want to and they genuinely love you. It’s the same theory that employees come to work and do a great job bc they really like and respect their manager, not because they hate and fear him or her but on a much grander level. That never does anyone any good. Take your time with it, b/c if you dont you will force yourself into some resentment role about God and then defeat the purpose all while debating this huge epiphany in your head, heart, and soul. Keep in mind when you waiver and if you get aggravated, that he’s calling you to see something much better, a bigger purpose for you, “He aint forcing ya!” You have to really think about what your praying for, why, & what your praying about. This is the amazing thing about God. He doesn’t have to prove anything to any of us, yet he does every single day, when you open your eyes and see, hear, and feel the good things around you. Go to God because he is very real, and good things come to those who wait with faith! He’s watching and carrying you every time you question. He’s doing it for all of us no matter what our quandary. Give it time, I promise you, you will see it all and with more than just your eyes and you will not regret loving and believing in HIM.
Trust me, when it’s all said and done , in the end, there is only one HIM. I will pray for you, but I also believe that deep in your heart you believe, or you would have never sought Him in the first place…and that is a very good thing.:bible1:
Peace and love always,
Shannon

I’ve been where you are now, I think we all have at times. Just continue to trust and believe because you WILL come through it. God wants us all to come to him. Pray as much as you can because the devil come after us when we have bad days and doubt. I know, I’ve been there on many occasions. I will pray a Rosary for you tonite :signofcross:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I will be praying hard for you! Please let us know how you are doing.
:gopray2:

The fact that you feel this pull toward the old is evidence that you are exactly where you should be (in Jesus) and Satan doesn’t like it. So don’t give up! You are a blessed child of God!! :extrahappy:
Continually call on Him – speak the name of Jesus aloud, and He will be there with you. Whisper His name, and the evil ones will shrink away in pain, and you will grow stronger. :knight2:

God bless,
Belle :hug1:

Blessed Mother, who never refuses the call of one of your little children, stay close to the heart of Esther Rose as she is inflicted by the wiles of the enemy. Scatter these temptors from her at every moment along with the help of St. Michael the Archangel through the power of God and deliver them to hell for all eternity. As well, comfort Esther Rose in her journey as a Neophyte that she remain forever in the arms of Christ. Amen. :harp:

Hi Rose, I feel that I may need to tell you just a few more things that may help. Remember that you can still meditate, defuse, and center yourself with God as the focus. I often pray my rosary and it helps me to be able to do the very things you were speaking of that brought you a type of peace in your inner world. If you need to grab a couple of crystals and your rosary, sit on the floor or wherever to ground yourself…then do just that. Just make sure you dont lose focus on Jesus, b/c you will be amazed to see how much strength and clarity he can give you. Like I was saying, baby steps b/c you have to “get”/understand and believe in God first before you can decide on a religion of practice as in being Catholic, Baptist etc. For me it’s Catholicism, and it sounds like this is your calling as well. Don’t be afraid to call upon Mary too as well. She is the Divine Mother. Give yourself time, do the research, and pray to Jesus, as I will for you too, to enable you to stay true to him and on the right path in Christ. I’ll pray for you in Mass Sunday. I have a good feeling that this will all work out for you. Just believe!👍

Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Oh, Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul, I adore you.
Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me, console me.
Tell me what I should do, give me your orders. I promise to submit myself to all that You desire of me and to accept all
that You permit to happen to me. Let me only know Your Will.
AMEN
Praying for you!

the best thing you can do when satan starts to bother you is to say out loud " go away, I belong to Jesus".
you don’t have to pray a lot, but pray frequently during the day, sometimes just a sentence to the Lord will be enough to help you remain in his presence.

I will pray for you. God bless your return to the Truth! 👍

I will pray for you.
Im going through the same thing right now, but i like to think of God letting us look back on our old lifestyles and to revise why we turned to him and to see what a mistake our old lives were.
Keep praying and believe in him, he will help us through this. I have a lot of faith in God, even when i dont feel it, i still know he is there for us.
God Bless

Hail Mary, full of grace; the lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Please say the following prayer right now to release 1,000 souls from purgatory (Approval and Recommendation signed by M. Cardinal Pahiarca, Lisbon, Portugal March 4, 1936.): Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy Souls in Purgatory. Amen

I will pray for you and your faith. Remember to pray always. Every spare minute of your time can be made into a quick prayer. As you pray, your love of God will grow as will your faith. Let nothing of what you have and know of God be taken from you.

What a glory it will be when at the end of your life the Father says, “Come my good and faithful servant…enter my rest…you were tempted mightily but withstood the enemy and remained steadfast in your faith and love for me.”

May the Holy Spirit protect you with the the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the evil one. And I pray that the Holy Spirit will give you the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God to fight your current battle.

Walk in the light of truth and the peace that only God can give.

I feel for you because I sense a great deal of spiritual warfare going on. Verbally reclaim the part of you that you gave to Jesus Christ, the Lord of the Universe over those evil spirits. they don’t let go very easily, and they can cause you such discouragement—do you think they will let go without a fight? You reclaim yourself for Jesus Christ daily. Get your spiritual direction and say all that you told us.

I live for the most part an uneventful life with a few troubles that most people share—I will offer my commonly shared darkness (we all have a share of darkness, I mean) and personal search for God in my life as a prayer for you to be healed from this trial. Don’t quit— don’t put my prayer to waste. Right now my head is full of difficulties, but I know you suffer *greater—*please hang in there.
St Jude help this person!

Be confident! Be Still. You will come through this. Someday you will look back on this and SEE the power of Jesus Chrsit in your life. Receive the eucharist daily.

Have you ever heard the expression, "the devil you know is better than the one you don’t’? You are unsettled in your new place, and whenever this happens, we start to long for not what is better, but for what we know- because it is comfortable.
Remember Lots’ wife, when they were fleeing Sodom, she kept looking back and turned to a pillar of salt! Looking back immobilizes us, and keeps us from moving forward.
Rest in Gods plan for you. Trust in the adventure of change and growth, imagine the places you will go, the people you will meet: all with God by your side. Pray for courage and and a spirit of joyful hope. Ask for the armor of Christ when you are tormented and recall that you are upheld in prayer.
