Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (ora_pro_nobis and Family), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. This past few months have been so horrendous for my family. My Mum was taken into hospital in September with diverticulitis - she had to have a large part of her bowel removed and is still recovering in hospital. I thank God for the NHS, and the wonderful nurses and doctors who saved her life (her organs had started to fail) and who are so kind to her, making sure she is comfortable and encouraging her on her long slow journey back to health. My Dad had a basal cell carcinoma (rodent ulcer) on his ear, which has been successfully removed, and my dear sister has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is going in for an operation tomorrow. My own health is not good.

I don’t really have anyone to talk to about any of this, and feel so alone at times.

Please pray for my Mum, Dad and sister as they go through these difficult months. Thank you x

I recommend you to also pray to Saint Expedite. He is the patron saint of such urgent situations and quick solutions. Confidently present your urgent request to him, and also St Jude and St Rita of Cascia

Offer your pain and suffering for the release of the Holy Souls in Purgatory, who are completely helpless without our prayers. Since Christmas is approaching, we are called to be even more charitable to one another

Above all, pray for God’s will to be done. Whatever His will is, He will give you the necessary graces and strength to accept it
