My father was in a car accident. He’s in serious condition, but should be okay. He broke his neck but the spinal cord seems uninjured. He has movement in his hands and legs. He also broke his elbow and wrist, and will need plastic surgery on his face, but there doesn’t appear to be any brain damage either. I’m thousands of kilometers away and worried about him.

I am sad to hear of your Dad’s serious accident.
His condition sounds very serious and I’ll keep him in all my prayers and Masses. I ask the Lord if there’s som way you can get to see him, but above all that God helps him displace as much pain and discomfort as possible, while healing. I thank You Lord that his spinal cord os okay. Please keep it so. Please stay by his side, Jesus.

Thanks, Trishie. I’ve got an airplane ticket to fly home two weeks from now. I don’t know if I’ll be changing it or not.

Maybe it isn’t practical, but afterwards you’d struggle with yourself if you didn’t go.
Your Dad is much in my thoughts and prayers. It’s just so hurtful knowing how awfully he’s been injured. I thank God for modern medicine which will be keeping him as comfortable as possible as his body and mind begins to cope with shock and injury, and begins healing. I know you’re strong and have been through a lot in the past, and I pray God gives you, and your family all the strength and healing you need too during this time.

My father has had all his major surgery, and is recovering from a skin graft to his face in the trauma unit of the hospital. He’s in one of those full-body immobilizer thingies to prevent damage to his spinal cord while he heals. It sounds like he’ll be moved back to our local hospital soon.

As for me, my boss hired a temp to cover my classes starting on Wednesday - I’ll have to train her on Tuesday before I leave. That’ll give me time to sort out my affairs here before I leave.

Thank you for the prayers. They really mean a lot to me, and to him I’m sure.
 
Father, in Jesus name I thank You for helping to facilitate these helpful circumstances.
I implore You to flood Your healing upon this loved father and husband. Help him to cope with being immobolized, and then please help his recovery and physio to go well. Help him to recover from the trauma and move towards a healthy, painfree lif. Thank You, Father
