For My Friend John Who Is Homeless

Loving God,

We lift our intentions for John and ask for your mercy, strength, and blessings to be with him during this very challenging time in his life. We thank you for the love poor_clare has shown this child of yours, and ask you to continue sending persons with compassion into his life to help him on his journey. Lord, we lift the following prayer for John now:

full of
grace the
Lord is
with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb
Jesus.

us sinners
now and
at the
hour of
our death.

Lord God , we pray for John whom sad and grievous circumstances have left homeless , that you in your Mercy and Love will provide for him the warmth and security of a home .
Have mercy , O Lord Our God , on those whom difficulties and sad events have robbed of homes and friends , and aid all those who try to help them .We commend also into your care those whose homes are broken by conflict and lack of love ; grant that where the love of man has failed , the Divine Compassion may heal ; through Jesus Christ Our Lord . Amen .

Lord God , we pray also that You will bless dear Clare , who has shown the love and compassion of a true Christian heart . Amen .

Hello

A few months ago I made friends with a homeless man named John. He became homeless after he suffered a nervous breakdown due to the death of his infant daughter and the breakdown of his relationship with her mother.

John has been homeless for 18 months and has applied for emergency housing. He exchanges odd jobs for accommodation and sells the Big Issue. He has an old greyhound (Jimmy) and looks after him by doing odd jobs at the veterinary clinic. Still he struggles and when he has to sleep on the streets he is at constant risk of violence from drug addicts.

I struck up the friendship and help him as much as I can each week. In the time that I’ve known him he has never asked me for anything. He’s only told me that he’s grateful that I stop and talk with him because he’s lonely and people passing look at him like he’s “junk”.

It’s getting very cold now. I’ve just seen him and he was shaking.

Please dear friends may I ask you to remember John in your prayers. Please pray that he finds a way out. He tries to work hard and achieve what he can. Please pray that God protects him from violence and that people open their hearts to him and treat him with kindness and dignity.

How wonderful you are Clare.I am sorry i missed this thread until now.I too have made friend with a family of refugees from Romania, Alina and her sister Marianna.I have given them boih money prayers and rosaries.I see them often and have swapped photos of their children etc.They are truly wonderful people and live together about 9 of them in one room in Slough.They have such caring natures and are lovely friends of mine.We should all be befriending homeless and praying for them.God bless you Clare for bringing this to our attention what a good heart you have.Thankyou and God bless you

John’s little dog was attacked and kicked last night by two men while John was making his way to the B&B. The dog is with the vet and should be OK. John has told me that this sort of thing has happened many times.

He and I are going to work together to get him regular odd jobs so that he can save enough for a deposit for a room. I’m happy to match whatever amount he saves. He can’t stay on the streets long-term.

Please dear friends continue to pray for his safety while he goes through this trial. May Our Blessed Mother and the angels protect him from pain and suffering. May God heal the souls and minds of the people who persecute the vulnerable

I met with a wonderful inspirational Christian family today who belong to another denomination.They told me about their church and how they take food to feed the homeless of Oxford several times a week.At Christmas they give knitted garments of hats gloves socks etc as presents.I just wanted to share this with you as it reminded me of Clare & her loving heart.
