DH’s bi-annual review is due this week and his friend at work bore the bad news to him for their department. DH has asked for a hefty raise (not expecting what he asked, but shooting for the stars), but he has learned that he has already capped out the payscale for his job and the most he’ll get is a 20 cent raise.

He WANTS to stay at his job, he LIKES his job and the company he works for, but they don’t pay enough for us to support our family, much less for me to be able to quit and SAH FT. He has finally said he is ready to start looking elsewhere. As long as I’ve waited, I’m not too quick to get excited. There’s a good chance that DH’s dept could band together and approach the CEO to re-write the payscale b/c they are underpaid for their specialized positions compared to other opportunities in our region.

Please pray for DH and me for the grace to seek HIS will in all of this and the courage to do it, whatever it is.

St. Joseph, patron of jobs, pray for us. Holy Family, keep this family close to your hearts that all may go well. Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph for the Unemployed

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

St. Joseph, pray for us!

O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen

Thank you for all the prayers, please keep them coming. DH confided in me last night his growing frustration. He got word that his and his co-worker’s request for a better raise was declined. Please pray for us that we have the wisdom to discern God’s will for our family and the courage to do it. Please also pray for DH’s co-worker/friend b/c he’s in the same boat with a family to provide for.

Thank you and God Bless.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.
