Hi All,

I’m finishing my Master’s thesis and preparing to defend it soon. I feel tired, out of focus, and overwhelmed… Time is running out, and I need to keep working hard on it.

I’m asking for your prayer so I can have the peace, grace and strenght for its completion.

May God bless you all and Hail Mary!

A Student’s Prayer to St. Anthony

O blessed Saint Anthony, may all students place
their studies under your powerful protection.
Through your intercession, may the Holy Spirit fill
them with light, strength, intelligence, and humility.
I implore the Creator of all things to grant these
students the ability to grasp concepts correctly,
and the talent to be exact in their answers.
Through Christ Our Lord, amen.

:signofcross:

Been there, done that. Cost me my first stomach ulcer. You can do this.

Praying:

For your peace of mind. For your general health. That the Holy Spirit will give you a calm heart and an organized head. That the gift of time will be yours for what is important, and that distractions from outside sources will be minimal. That as the sum of your studies come crowding in on you, you will have the gifts of memory and clarity. That when you face your thesis defense you will have the gifts of knowledge and wisdom. That the archangel Gabriel, the patron of communications, will protect your final thesis copy from computer glitches and typographical errors.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful people and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Our Lady of good studies, pray for us.
St Thomas Aquinas, pray for us.

Prayers for you Limno and for your success.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother;
to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Praying for you. I was in the same boat a year ago as I finished seminary. Exhausted, loads to do on the thesis and no time to do it (I had to rewrite 80% of it when my first draft got rejected). On top of that I was dealing with emotional and social issues, along with the fallout from a bunch of bad news my classmates had suffered through. I finished the thesis, graduated, got ordained, and, praise God, all the other issues worked out as well. Keep praying and keep moving. The chaplet of Divine Mercy is your friend.

I assure you of my fraternal prayers, Father.

Yes…the first year brings its extraordinary set of joys and challenges. We never grow so old as to forget that – at least we shouldn’t, as we try to help our younger brothers. I wish you ad multos annos, Father.

Sub Tuum Praesidium Under Thy Patronage
We fly to thy patronage,
O holy Mother of God;
despise not our petitions in our necessities,
but deliver us always from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin.
Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Praying

After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions; and all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

We pray to You, O Lord,
who are the supreme Truth,
and all truth is from you.
We beseech You, O Lord,St-Albert-the-Great
who are the highest Wisdom,
and all the wise depend on You for their wisdom.
You are the supreme Joy,
and all who are happy owe it to You.
You are the Light of minds,
and all receive their understanding from You.
We love, we love You above all.
We seek You, we follow You,
and we are ready to serve You.
We desire to dwell under Your power
for You are the King of all. Amen.

Thank you kindly, Father, and know of my prayers for you. I’m discovering that the first year is a series of weeks where I feel like I’ve just about got it all figured out followed by weeks that remind me I can never know or do it all. But it’s definitely an adventure!
