As I’ve stated here before, I’ve struggled with bad anxiety when approaching confession since becoming Catholic - that last year began to extend to attending mass. I miss mass, I miss receiving Jesus, and I would really like this meeting to go well. I’m nervous and not even completely sure what I’m going to say or how he could help me. However, it’s been a long time and I’m sick of suffering in this way so I’m trying to trust God that he will help me through this and some good will come out of meeting with my local priest. I have a meeting with the associate pastor later this week - please pray it goes well, that I can adequately explain what’s going on, and for the priest I am meeting with. Thank you.

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, Implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in Thy mercy hear and answer me, Amen ✝️

I have prayed for you, but I also think it would be good for you to see a Catholic therapist about this. Some priests will be able to help you, but anxiety is not always a spiritual matter. If it is a health condition, seeing an anxiety specialist is the way to healing.

@Jared2914 Thank you!! I have tried therapy before, though to be honest there was not any improvement. The closest Catholic therapist I’ve found is 2 hours away unfortunately. Mainly I’m just wanting a regular confessor who is willing to work with me so I can regularly receive the sacrament. I don’t do well with trying to go during scheduled times due to time constraints and feeling really pressured as it’s always very crowded where I live (not a bad thing in general, but a bad thing for me). Not to mention the sacrament causes me a lot of stress in and of itself. I very much appreciate your prayers!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Praying your meeting will go well with the
associate pastor and he will be able to help you overcome your anxiety regarding attending Mass.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
