I have a mental disorder known as psychosis. I have hallucinations that are mostly auditory (I hear voices). I’ve had this problem for about two years. I’m so tired of having hallucinations because the voices tell me to kill myself. I’m taking medication, but it’s not working very well. I have asked the Lord to heal me, but He hasn’t done so. Please pray for me.

Life can be very hard and, at times, seem very unfair. Christ never said it would be easy, but He did guarantee that all our struggles and crosses would be worth it in the end if we carried them as He carried His. I remember reading a story about a young man who (at a very young age) had been badly crippled in an accident. Since the age of 3, he had been in and out of hospitals for countless surgeries, and in constant pain, never to live a normal life. When asked why he never let his condition get to him, and why he was always in good spirits and never blamed God for his outcome, he replied; “it’s OK. God has all of eternity to make it up to me.” This was such a beautiful response to a rather gloomy situation and I’ve never forgotten it.
You will most definitely be kept in my prayers. Keep fighting the good fight! God knows how strong you are, you’re going to win! 👍

Dear Drac16: I want you to understand that
you have a medical illness, not any sort of
spiritual problem. Prayer can help, but the
best thing you can do is get medical treatment.
I briefly suffered auditory hallucinations because
of some medications I was taking. I was lucky.
As soon as I got off the medications, I got better.

it hard for someone to think clearly, make
good judgments, respond emotionally,
communicate effectively, understand reality,
and behave appropriately.

When symptoms are severe, people with

to handle daily life. But even severe psychotic

I have the diagnosis of psychosis as well I got 3 years ago from being in a traumatizing relationship. It was like living in hell literally. I was hospitalized 3 times. The voices told me lies like I killed people and hurt so many people because of my sins that I deserve hell. The voice told me to kill myself. I swear that voice seemed like the devil but they say its all in your head. Anyways, the key is the right medicine. If one antipsychotic is not working than you have to try a new one, try a different dr if he is not working for you. Be your own advocate. Nobody should have to suffer with this for so long when there are perfectly good meds out there. Ive been on several of them and now I am on Geodon which I like the best. But you make sure you have a good dr. You shouldnt be still hearing voices if your meds are worked out right. I will pray for you and you can PM me anytime as we both have the same cross to bear.
I now have been well for three years and am back to my old self and working at my old job. God has been good. But I had to divorce my abusive husband, I had loving family to support me, and a great doctor who doesnt give up. I pray for you as this is trully a difficult cross to bear.

Hi Drac; this lady is giving you some good advice and I suggest that you take it. I pray that God leads you to a competent doctor who will help you out of this psychological hell that you are now stuck in.
 
Dear Jesus, please help drac16 to recover from mental illness. Please lead drac16 to the right competent and caring doctors to give the right treatments to help them make a full recovery. Please help drac16 to cope in daily life and not be incapacitated by this illness.
