For my nephew with epilepsy

Please pray healing for my nephew who has been struggling for over a decade with epilepsy as well as with the debilitating side effects of his medications that do not noticeably help his seizures. He now facing the probability that he will not be able to return to high school for his senior year, he will not be able to go away to college, he will never be able to live on his own or to drive a car.

Thank you for your prayers.
 
Medications can control the seizures. If the current one doesn’t work, I’m sure another one will. Be positive. Life is not over for your nephew. God bless you.

Lord Jesus,
you took pity on the blind Bartimaeus
and healed him;
you raised Lazarus from the dead
and freed Mary Magdalen from seven
devils to count her among your disciples.

You made the blind see, the deaf hear,
the dumb speak, the lame walk,
you cleansed lepers and cast out demons.
You preached the Good News to the poor
and bless those who are faithful to you.

Through the intercession of your
faithful martyr, Genesius,
grant your healing and consolation to the sick.
Give them the strength to carry their Cross
in union with you.

I thank you so much for your prayer. Unfortunately, none of his medications (and he’s tried them all both singularly and in combination) reduce his seizures for more than about a month before they stop working altogether. He’s just finished his last possible drug combo and been denied for brain surgery. So in addition to healing prayers for him, I probably should have asked for hope prayers for our family. Everyone is feeling pretty hopeless right now having reached the end of the road medically.
 
This is an intention so dear to my heart! I have had seizures (and live in the fear and pain of them someday returning) and understand how crippling the disease (and depression) can be. I will pray for your intention in my nightly prayers! I hope you find comfort in that the catholics have 18 patron saints for epilepsy! I imagine all of them will be praying for your nephew!

I’m so sorry for his situation. Please forgive my presumptuousness. I don’t suffer from your nephew’s condition. But I’ve been chronically ill for more than a decade. I try new treatments, but I’ve found no cure.

So I’ll offer another prayer for your nephew and the family. God bless you.

O Holy St Jude!
Apostle and Martyr,
great in virtue and rich in miracles,
near kinsman of Jesus Christ,
faithful intercessor for all who invoke you,
special patron in time of need;
to you I have recourse from the depth of my heart,
and humbly beg you,
to whom God has given such great power,
to come to this boy’s assistance;
Pray for this sick boy and family as they deal
with this seemingly intractable illness.
Holy Jesus, shine your light upon this family.
Give them hope and new medical options

Am praying for your nephew and family. I have epilepsy but not as bad as your nephew, so I can relate to some extent. I am asking Mary Immaculate and St. Dymphna for intercession also.

And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.
