Loving God,

We thank you for your many blessings in our lives and today we thank you especially for medical advances, inspired by You, that allow your people to live out their lives in a more comfortable manner. We lift up our intentions for T in the hopes that you will bless her and have mercy on her during this time of surgery and recovery. We ask that you send your comforting and consoling Holy Spirit to be with her during this time in a special way. We also pray for the compassion, skill, and competence of all medical staff and doctors who treat and tend to dear sister T. Please also strengthen the family and provide them with a strong faith, courage, and hope in You, that they might ease the recovery and the pain sister endures as part of her recovery process.

Lord, we are very thankful that you have prepared this treatment for sister T to help her situation. Please also bless big sister C and help her to care for her sister during this time.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, who is our Lord and Savior yesterday, today, and for all eternity.

Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. I have an update on my sister, T, although it’s a couple of days late (I hope you’ll forgive me, the past week’s been very hectic). 😊

My sister called our house on Sunday morning to tell us that the staff at the hospital said she was recovered enough to go home, so my parents went up early in the afternoon to get the paperwork done for her release. I counted down the time left until I finished working for the night so I could go home to see her; she is still dealing with pain and discomfort, as well as stiffness in her arms, but she is slowly getting better.

T is able to get up and sit down without assistance, and she has no trouble walking around the house. My mom was a bit concerned this evening, however, as my sister took two Advil liqui-gels for the pain, and was trying to take a third when Mom stopped her. She is also on prescribed pain medication, but thankfully, she is not trying to overmedicate herself with that as it is a narcotic (in fact, she’s actually trying to wean herself off of it, sort of the way she did with the morphine at the hospital). She has her cell phone by her at night as well, in case she wakes up in the middle of the night in need of something, she can simply call the house line.

The doctors and nurses were wonderful in caring for my sister in the initial recovery period following her chest surgery, but I am glad she is finally home. 🙂

Lord Jesus, our Savior and our brother,
listen to our prayer and look with love on T.
Visit her in this time of sickness
and fill her with the gifts of your Spirit,
that she may have the courage to carry your cross,
the strength to believe in your love,
and the faith to persevere in hope and prayer.
Restore her strength
and bring her back to full health.
Lord Jesus, unite our prayer to your own,
and present it to God most high.
To God be glory and praise for ever and ever.

Jesus thank You that the surgery is successful. Please will You help T with her continued recovery. Help her to face the pain and discomfort without over-medicating, and please help to ease her pain naturally as much as possible.
Please surround her and her sister and this entire family with Your light and love.
Thank You, Jesus
