Here is a three-part youtube video explaining******** the history of the conclave.

It is in Italian with English subtitles.

Enjoy! šŸ™‚

Thanks for the video, a rare glimpse at the conclave. Perhaps the most important aspect of the conclave is that it is a secluded retreat, a time of prayers and invoking the Holy Spirit. The seriousness and the confidentiality of the process is well demonstrated when the cardinals, one by one, would take an oath by placing their palms on the Bible in front of the painting of the Last Judgment in the Sistine Chapel. But what really strike me is that these are men of prayers. The prayerful atmosphere during the conclave must be very awesome.

A thing to note is The Ring of the Fisherman, the Pope’s official seal, of the last Pope will be annulled and not crushed as before.

It is nice to read the translation of Jesus’ commission to Peter as ā€œYour are Petrus, and on this stone I will build my Churchā€. šŸ˜‰

Another interesting feature is the cardinals’ thrones and they would sit under a canopy each which will be pulled down except for the one who is elected the new Pope as a sign of obedience.

Hopefully ā€˜Habemum Papam’ will be announced before Easter next month.
