Please pray for the conversion of Obama, that he may turn to the way of life.

Lord,

As we approach the time for the new administration, we beg your aid for our new president. Help him, we pray, to be able to discern the good from the evil and aid him to choose the good. Help him to see the holocaust that is abortion and infanticide in this country, and help him to change his heart and to use his position to lessen the amount of evil done by abortion.

amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. :harp:

Amen to that. I’ve been standing in front of an Icon of Our Lady and Her Child and doing just that every week since Barack Obama’s election.

For those who pray the Rosary regularly, I suggest praying the Patriotic Rosary from Priests for Life:

Pope John Paul II’s Closing Prayer in EVANGELIUM VITAE

O Mary,
bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living,
to you do we entrust the cause of life.
Look down, O Mother,
upon the vast numbers
of babies not allowed to be born,
of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
of men and women
who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed
by indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son
may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love
to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace
to accept that Gospel
as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude
throughout their lives
and the courage to bear witness to it
resolutely, in order to build,
together with all people of good will,
the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God,
the Creator and lover of life.

God Our Father, Giver of life,
we entrust the United States of America
to Your loving care.
You are the rock
on which this nation was founded.
You alone are the true source
of our cherished rights
to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Reclaim this land for Your glory
and dwell among Your people.

Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts
of our nation’s leaders,

**Esp. President-Elect Barack Obama and
**
the Democratic members of Congress.

Open their minds
to the great worth of human life
and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom.
Remind Your people that true happiness
is rooted in seeking and doing Your will.

Through the intercession of
Mary Immaculate, Patroness of our land,
grant us the courage to reject
the “culture of death.”
Lead us into a new millennium of life.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord.
Amen!

Let us all fervently pray for the conversion of Barack Obama and the Democrats in the Senate and the House of Representatives. Please understand that one of the things he has promised is to lobby for and sign the “Freedom of Choice Act” which would wipe out almost all of the Pro-Life legislation we’ve managed to get passed into law over the last 15 years, destroying all of the reductions we’re achieved in the number of Abortions at the same time, with the stroke of a pen.

I can’t see how this would be beneficial for women, for the relationships between women and men and women and their children, or for our Republic.

Your Brother and Servant in Christ, Michael

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

**Discussion of political candidates, including posts that name a candidate, allude to a particular candidate, use euphemisms for a candidate, or refer to surrogates for a particular candidate. **

I guess it’s OK to pray for the president (since he’s not a candidate). I’m not sure. But we’ve got to be careful that we don’t make this a political thing. Plus I have friends who would want people on the other side of the aisle to be converted. (Yeah, I know.)

🙂

Because nothing is impossible for God.
