It isn’t that I don’t believe we should be clean of heart (in fact the Church expects that you are) when you’re receiving the eucharist, it’s that who traditionally set such a time limit before one could receive it? Don’t you have reconciliation (I would figure if you are truly penitent that you can thus receive the eucharist) to absolve you of your sins? It seems rather unnecessary to deny someone the body and blood of Jesus when you need it the most? And however much Mary of Egypt was a saint who didn’t partake of the eucharist (but twice), there are thousands more who partook of it everyday in order to strengthen their spirits and their faith.

Catholics hold that one should be in a state of race to receive the Eucharist … and I [as a person who in an irregular marriage for some three years and who attended Mass every week unable to partake] understand the desire to receive and yet be unable to …

Once a person has realized a sin, sought reconcilliation and forgiveness through the sacrament of Reconcilliation [Confession, however you call it] and received absolution … that the penance given by the priest would be deprivation of the Eucharist seems unnatural …

Is that common in the Eastern Rites? That the Eucharist would be denied to one who has reconciled themselves … It just seem odd …

For a long time it was the tradition, both east and west, to recieve only a couple times a year. Penance was often like this where a person would be kept from communion for long stretches of time before they were reintroduced to communion. They would have like 3 year penance where they would not recieve the Eucharist.

Yes - what you state here is true - at leats in part.

You may note that many a learned scholar [schooled in biblical and ancient writings - greek and hebrew linguists - catholic and even non-catholic] have studied those writings - in context and full corpus - and came down on the side of the Latin church - not the Orthodox …

And they all recognize there has been a development in the doctrines of the papacy. No legitimate historical theologian would say that the papacy was as it is from the beginning. Even Pope Benedict himself speaks about the development of the papacy in some of his books. In his book The Nature and Mission of Theology he speaks of the development of the authority of the papacy in the 12 and13th centuries for a few pages.

Many historical theologians have come down on the side of the Greek east as well. Jaroslav Pelican is one. I am not going to tell you that there is no room for interpretation. The question is whether the present state of Catholicism is consistent with the early Church or not.

And I agree with you that schism is a great sadness. The divisions in Christianity is a horrible offense against God.

You failed to miss the point that it was said at a (infallible) council which according to what we know, many bishops were present, and yet there is no record of them disagreeing with said comment. If this was truly an anomaly then I must say the bishops present were ignorant of this fact.

No one has ever said that every word spoken in a council or recorded in the documents is infallible. You could read the records of Vatican II and find several statements made by bishops that you would strongly disagree with. The Council of Chalcedon read the letter of Ibas out without any condemnation of it. They reinstated Ibas to his see. But later at the Second Council of Constantinople in 553 the letter (it is part of the ‘three chapters’ controversy) was condemned as heretical. Should we assume that because no one condemned the letter of Ibas at Chalcedon that they consequently supported it? No, there is neither a statement for or against it.

First Rome, Second Rome and Third Rome
THE THIRD ROME IN HISTORY AND IN PROPHECY

Can it really be that no one today is even slightly familiar with the “Povest’ o belom klobuke” (“The Tale Of The White Cowl”) – that very same Cowl which was placed upon the head of Patriarch St. Tikhon, nearly a century ago?
The “Povest’” (which is an integral part of Russian Church history) clearly states that St. Constantine was baptized by Pope St. Sylvester shortly after the miraculous victory that Christ gave him over his pagan rival, Maxentius, at the battle on the Milvian Bridge (AD 312) and not “on his deathbed” by Eusebius of Nicomedia, as modern “scholarship” so likes to assert.

For that service, in gratitude, Constantine bestowed upon St. Sylvester the dignity of wearing a White Cowl, which is symbolic of the purity of the Orthodox Faith and the Radiant Third-day Resurrection of Christ.

Soon after the Church in Rome fell to the Appollinarian heresy, the then-Pope, commanded to do so by an Angel of the Lord who appeared to him in a threatening dream, sent the Cowl to the Patriarch of Constantinople.

Later, a “radiant youth” (also an Angel of the Lord) appeared to the then-Patriarch of Constantinople and commanded that he send the Cowl on to the Holy Russian Land:

“For Old Rome hath fallen away from the glory and the faith of Christ through pride and self-will; in New Rome, which is in the City of Constantine, the Christian faith will likewise perish through Hagarene (Muslim) violence; while upon the Third Rome, which is in the Russian Land, the Grace of the Holy Spirit hath shone forth” … for “there truly is the faith of Christ glorified” … “and honoured … more than anywhere else on earth”.

“The Tale Of The White Cowl” further predicts the establishment of a patriarchate in Rus’ ("… and the great rank of Patriarch … will be given to the Russian Land in its time, and that nation will be called radiant [or: Holy] Rus’").

This prophecy would only find fulfillment in 1589, one hundred thirty six years after the “infidel Turks” broke down the gates of the City of Constantine and a century and a half after the Greeks had betrayed their Faith in Florence.

With the establishment of the Russian Patriarchate, the White Cowl became the headgear of Russia’s Patriarchs (St. Tikhon being the last to wear it legitimately).

Thus, the Third Rome was spiritually linked with the First, by way of the Second (II [IV] Esdras 11). And, inasmuch as “a Fourth [Rome] there shall not be”, the “Povest’” informs us that “at the end [of the Age] all Christian realms will come together into a single Russian Tsar’dom *, on account of the Orthodox Faith … and the Lord will exalt the Russian Tsar’ over many nations…”.

This prophecy was also passed on to us by, among others, St. Seraphim of Sarov, who informs us that even the antichrist will tremble at the mere mention of the Russian Tsar’!

We know, for example (according to the prophecies of St. Feofan of Poltava) that "*n Russia, the startsy [elders] used to say, through the will of the people, the Monarchy and Autocratic rule will be restored. The Lord has forechosen the future Tsar’.

"He will be a man of burning faith, of brilliant mind and of iron will. First of all, he will bring about order in the Orthodox Church by removing all the false, heresy-preaching and lukewarm hierarchs. And very many indeed – almost all, with few exceptions – will be those removed by him: while new ones, true and steadfast hierarchs, will take their place.

“Through the female line, he will be from the lineage of the Romanovs. Russia will be a mighty state, but only for ‘a short time’. … After that, the antichrist will come into the world, with all the horrors of the end, as described in the ‘Apocalypse’.”

Elsewhere, St. Feofan states:

"Oh, Russia, Russia! How terribly has she sinned before the loving kindness of the Lord.

"The Lord God favoured Russia, and He gave her that which He had not given to a single other nation on earth. And this nation turned out to be so ungrateful.

"She left Him; she rejected Him; and it is therefore that the Lord has given her over to be tormented by devils. The devils took up their residence in the souls of men, and the nation of Russia became possessed; literally, devil-ridden.

"And all the terrible things that we hear about what went on – and what continues to go on – in Russia: all the sacrilege, all the militant atheism and theomachy, – all of this stems from her being possessed by devils.

"But, through the inexpressible mercy of God, this possession will pass and the nation will be healed. The nation will turn to repentance; to faith.

"That will occur, which none expects. Russia will be resurrected from the dead, and the entire world will be astonished.

"Orthodoxy in her will be reborn and triumph. But that Orthodoxy which had existed formerly will be no more.

"The great startsy have said that Russia will be reborn; that the people themselves will restore the Orthodox Monarchy. A mighty Tsar’ will be placed upon the Throne by God Himself.

"He will be a great reformer, and he will be strong in the Orthodox faith. He will cast down the unfaithful hierarchs of the Church.

"He himself will be an outstanding personality, with a pure and holy soul. He will possess a strong will. He will be of the Romanov Dynasty, through the maternal line.

"He will be God’s Chosen One, obedient to the Lord in all things. He will transform Siberia.

Looks like what you believe is very, very, very important.
Byzantine Roman Empire after ceded to Roman Catholicism resisted around 100 years doing a union with Catholic Church not based on Orthodoxy but accepting Roman Catholic erorrs resisted around 100 yers. Around hundred years after doing Union with Rome in error and accepting error Byzantine Empire dissapeared.

Roman Catholics moving from errors to even BIGGER errors and here I mention Vatican II that a story said it was provoked by the devil, has dire repercusions in Europe. Already 65% of newborns in Germany are foreigners, and huge percent of same thing in Italy .France, Spain and such. West is crashing. And no, is not because of immigrants I think is because accepting error. Did you see how Rome moved after accepting error, to Second and then Third Rome? So if you say Rome follows Saint Peter I ask Which Rome?

Romania after accepting Pope’s visits and starting to cede to Vatican requests , so after Pope’s visit we lost many, many, many of our gifted people that could spoke with God were taken back to God and I read somewhere that this may be a punishment for getting closer to error.

So NO, never a UNION under Rothschild with money, under errors od Vatican II. NEVER.

SO DEFENDING TRUTH is so very important. there are many documents that stand to truth and is not big deal to find it. Is very hard for people perverting truth to speak against documents , historical documents but we need to be vigilante and not let them do that. There are scores of people in Orthodox World speaking with God and able to find truth. I don’t care about Rothschild. Through prayer we can ask God to come rescue Catholic Church and Rothschild has no power .

Moving to the truth of Orthodox Church is the only Answer. Splitting and doing other things may not be a solution. I think history shows that Roman Catholicism was in error much before Vatican II maybe with filioloque and other things. VATICAN II exarcerbated the errors. What was the influence of Rothschild on VATICAn II. As tresurer of CAtholic Church I expect being in contact with top decision people maybe daily and maybe mendling in Catholic Church affairs. I think Catholic Church needs to take his money back.

There is a story in Athos Mountain Monastery of Zougrafou I think. After Byzantine Emperor signed treaty of Florence the catholic priests come to Holy Mountain asking the Orthodox Monks to perform a Liturgy together, Maybe forcing them. Some orthodox monks accepted and while performing the Liturgy, Byzantine Emperor was there, while performing Holy Liturgy the Church crashed killing people doing the Holy Liturgy. After dying their bodies did not decomposeand even today can be seen however their hair and nails is still growing.

Second time the Byzantine Emperor and latin people forced Orthodox Monks performing a Liturgy together, second time the Church crashed The bodies of these people are there and even today their nails and hair is growing, anybody can see this.

This maybe explains why Orthodox Priests don’t allow Catholic priests in their Churches.

So you see what you believe is very very very important. What you believe is very important and what you believe differentioate you from a pagan or muslim or somebody else. This is why you have to defend what you believe. Its not that Popes are not charismatic and people don’t love them, even many many many Romanians came and salute pope Paul when visiting is that people are afraid of God punishment and need to keep Orthodoxy white.

Now the question comes for normal people can they be saved in Catholic Church?

I don’t know the answer but at one time when Romania was forced to move Calendar to New Calendar there was a very gifted monk that had a revelation telling him he is not responsible for moving Calendar. On the other hand a nun broke away from Church and when dying an monk had a revelation and saw the nun that told him I am not in Heaven because i broke from Church , Romanian Church was in communion with Orthodox Churches while broking people were not, so she said she is not in Heavenb however she is not suffering since doing good only she cannot se the light and stays in darkness…So people there either remain catholic either move to Orthodox Church but nor breaking but I may be wrong.

Willingly to move from Orthodoxy to Catholicism or Protestantism may be a problem or from Catholicism to Protestantism may be a problem too.

What can we do? We can pray for both Catholic and Orthodox Church to come to Orthodoxy, for Rotschild to either come to christianity either to let christian money to Christians.

So 40 years after VATICAN II Europe is crashing. I don’t say the people that did Vatican II are bad, maybe they were deceived and there is so easy to be deceived , believe me is easy and I was deceived too, so I know how easy it is. There is a solution to this, this prayer: God force me to Heaven and to the path you know is best. What about the Catholic Church?

VATICAN II, we need to move closer to the World. If some want to move closer to the world they need exit Church and become CEOs.

According with these prophecies after Pope Benedict will be one last Pope, and Catholic Church may be finished, however there are some prophecies speaking about bye bye Catholic Church maybe with errors and Welcome Rome Orthodox Church. However this prophecy can be changed since people can repent and come back to Orthodox Church earlier.

I did hear on some sites, we are ready to destroy Catholic Church, they don’t even know that this was prophecized like 1000 years ago.Same thing, not bad people but deceived peole. They have a stick from God, however they should understand they may respond how the stick is used.

Violence is not the answer, punishment is not the answer, the answer is prayer for Catholic and Orthodox Church to be in truth.

If you love Christianity then you should defend the Third Rome, the Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church that will resist until the end. Also you should find and defend truth.This is good since if there will be a Third Rome you have the option to move to a Church of Third Rome if things are not good. Don’t forget to pray to God to force you to move you to the right faith and to Heaven. If you ask for knowing the good direction, you may be decieved into not going there so it may be of no use even may be used against you since you knew but did not act.

The Holy and Righteous John of Kronstadt recalled this vision which he had in January of 1901:

After evening prayers I laid down to rest a little in my dimly lit cell since I was fatigued. Hanging before the icon of the Mother of God was my lit lampada. Not more than a half hour had passed when I heard soft rustle. Someone touched my left shoulder, and in tender voice said to me, ‘Arise servant of God John and follow the will of God!’

I arose and saw near the window glorious starets (elder) with frosty grey hair, wearing a black mantia, and holding staff in his hand. He looked at me tenderly, and I could scarcely keep from falling because of my great fear. My hands and feet trembled, and I wanted to speak, but my tongue would not obey me. The starets made the sign of the cross over me, and calm and joy soon came over me. Then I made the sign of the cross myself. He then pointed to the western wall of my cell with his staff in order that I should notice certain spot. The starets had inscribed on the wall the following numbers: 1913, 1914, 1917, 1922, 1924, and 1934.

Suddenly the wall vanished, and I walked with the starets toward a green field and saw a mass of crosses-thousands standing as gravemarkers. They were wooden, clay, or gold. I asked the starets, ‘What are these crosses for’ He softly answered, “These crosses are for those who suffered and were murdered for their faith in Christ and for the Word of God and have become martyrs!”

And so we continued to walk. Suddenly I saw an entire river of blood and asked the starets, ‘What is the meaning of this blood? How much has been spilled?’ The starets looked around and replied, This is the blood of true Christians!’ The starets then pointed to some clouds, and I saw mass of burning white lamps. They began to fall to the ground one after another by the tens and by the hundreds. During their descent they grew dim and turned to ashes. The starets then said to me, ‘Look!’ I saw on a cloud seven burning lamps. I asked, ‘What is the meaning of the burning lamps which fell to the ground’ He said, Those are the churches of God which have fallen into heresy, but these seven lamps on the clouds are the seven Catholic and Apostolic Churches which will remain until the end of the world!’

The starets then pointed high into the air and I saw and heard angels singing, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord of Sabbaoth!’ Then a large crowd of people with candles in their hands rushed by with joy on their shining faces. They were archbishops, monks, nuns, groups of laymen, young adults, and even children and babies. I asked the wonderworking starets, ‘What is the meaning of these people’ He responded, These are all the people who suffered for the Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church, for the holy icons at the hands of the wicked destroyers.’ I then asked the great starets if I could sit down next to them. The starets said, ‘It is too early for you to suffer, so joining them would not be blessed by God!’

Again I saw a large group of infants who had suffered for Christ under Herod and had received crowns from the Heavenly King. We walked further and went into large church. I wanted to make the sign of the cross, but the starets said, ‘It is not necessary to cross yourself because this is a place of abomination and desolation!’ The church was very gloomy. On the altar was a star and a Gospel book with stars. Candles made of tar were burning and crackling like firewood. The chalice was standing there covered by strong stench. There was prosphora with stars. A priest stood before the altar with face like pitch and woman was under the altar covered in red with a star on her lips and she screamed and laughed th roughout the church saying, ‘I am free!’ I thought Oh, Lord, how awful! The people, like madmen, began to run around the altar, scream, whistle, and clap their hands. Then they began to sing lecherous songs. Suddenly lightning flashed, frightening thunderbolt resounded, the earth trembled, and the church collapsed, sending the woman, the people, the priest, and the rest into the abyss. I thought Oh Lord, how awful, save us!

The starets saw what had happened as did I. I asked, ‘Father, tell me, what is the meaning of this frightening church?’ He responded, These are the earthly people, heretics who have abandoned the Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church and recognized the newly innovated church which God has not blessed. In this church they do not fast, do not attend services, and do not receive Holy Communion!’ I was frightened and said, The Lord has pity on us, but curses those with death!’ The starets interrupted me and said, ‘Do not mourn, but just pray!’ Then I saw a throng of people, each of whom had a star on his lips and was. terribly exhausted from thirst, walking here and there. They saw us and yelled loudly, 'Holy Fathers, pray for us. It is very hard for us because we ourselves cannot. Our Fathers and Mothers did not teach us the Law of God. ‘We do not even have the name of Christ, and we have received no peace. We rejected the Holy Spirit and the sign of the cross!’ They began to cry.

I followed after the starets. ‘Look!’ he said pointing with his hand. I saw a mountain of human corpses stained in blood. I was very frightened, and I asked the starets, ‘What is the meaning of these dead bodies?’ He replied, These are people who lived the monastic life, were rejected by the Antichrist, and did not receive his seal. They suffered for their faith in Christ and the Apostolic Church and received martyrs crowns dying for Christ. Pray for these servants of God!’

Without warning the starets turned to the north and pointed with his hand. I saw an imperial palace, around which dogs were running. Wild beasts and scorpions were roaring and charging and baring their teeth. And I saw the Tsar sitting on a throne. His face was pale and masculine. He was reciting the Jesus Prayer. Suddenly he fell like a dead man. His crown fell. The wild beasts, dogs, and scorpions trampled on the anointed Sovereign. I was frightened and cried bitterly. The starets took me by my right shoulder. I saw a figure shrouded in white - it was Nicholas II. On his head was a wreath of green leaves, and his face was white and somewhat bloodied. He wore a gold cross around his neck and was quietly whispering a prayer. And then he said to me with tears, ‘Pray for me, Fr. John. Tell all Orthodox Christians that I, the Tsar-martyr, died manfully for my faith in Christ and the Orthodox Church. Tell the Holy Fathers that they should serve a Panachida for me, a sinner, but there will be no grave for me!’

Soon everything became hidden in the fog. I cried bitterly praying for the Tsar-martyr. My hands and feet trembled from fear. The starets said, :Look! Then I saw a throng of people scattered about the land who had died from starvation while others were eating grass and vegetation. Dogs were devouring the bodies of the dead, and the stench was terrible. I thought, Oh Lord, these people had no faith. From their lips they expelled blasphemy, and for this they received God’s anger.

I also saw an entire mountain of books and among the books worms were crawling emitting ? terrible stench. I asked the starets, ‘What was the meaning of these books?’ ?? said, These books are the Godlessness and blasphemy which will infect all Christians with heretical teachings!’ Then the starets touched his staff to some of the books, and they ignit ed into flames. The wind scattered the ashes. Further on, I saw a church around which was a large pile of prayer intentions for the departed. I bent over and wanted to read them, but the starets said, These prayer requests for the dead have been lying here for many years, and the priests have forgotten about them. They are never going to read them, but the dead will ask someone to pray for them!’ I asked, ‘Who, will they get to pray for them?’ The starets answered: ‘The Angels will pray for them!’

We proceeded further, and the starets quickened the pace so that I could hardly keep up with him. ‘Look!’ he said. I saw a large crowd of people being persecuted by demons who were beating them with stakes, pitchforks, and hooks. I asked the starets, ‘What is the meaning of these people?’ He answered, These are the ones who renounced their faith and left the Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church and accepted the new innovative church. This group represents priests, monks, nuns, and laymen who renounced their vows or marriage, and engaged in drinking and all sorts of blasphemy and slander. All of these have terrible faces and a terrible stench comes from their mouths. The demons beat them, driving them into the terrible abyss, from where hell fire comes forth. ’ I was terribly frightened. I made the sign of the cross while praying, Lord deliver us from such a fate! "

All important moments in Bible for almost 2000 years are pointed by miracles that today happen in Orthodox Christianity.
1.The most important moment in Bible is Jesus resurrection proving him to be God and having power over death. The history say that Apostle Peter coming to the Holy Sepulcher and that he found a Light there. St John Chrysosotom
For the Son of thunder, the beloved of Christ, the pillar of the Churches throughout the world, who holds the keys of heaven, who drank the cup of Christ, and was baptized with His baptism, who lay upon his Master’s bosom, with much confidence, this man now comes forward to us now.

Here is St John calling St Paul, “the teacher of the world”.

And here is St John talking about St James as having the chief rule:

St. John sure is an eloquent man. Very inspiring. This is my own take on these quotes if I may. St. John here is speaking about the body of the Church, we have St. John who is the “pillar” of the Church (imagine the legs of a body), St. Paul is the “teacher of the world” (imagine the mouth or voice box), St. James as having the chief rule (imagine the hand holding the quill to transcript down the rules), and St. Peter the "Leader of the choir, the Mouth of the rest of the Apostles, that Head of the brotherhood, that One set over the entire universe (imagine the head who decisions speaks for the group and leads the group).

Now does it make sense that Peter is the Vicar of Christ who is the head of the Church (who is universal and so he has universal jurisdiction “entire universe”)?

How does that translate to our modern situation with all the bishops and the pope being successors of this group of Apostles. Well, someone has to continue to be the hands. Someone has to continue to be the legs. Someone has to continue to speak out on behalf of the Church. Someone has to provide sustenance for the Church. And there are countless other parts to making the Church body into a strong and vibrant Church.

Congregation of Divine Worship = St. James role as the writer of the law?
Hospitals staffed with priests and nuns in all parts of the world = legs of the Church?
Priests at pulpits, missionaries, and apologists = voice box of the Church?
The laity = the cells that provide sustenance for the Church?

Well these are all groupings under the jurisdiction and lead of bishops that are descended from the original Apostles.

If Pope Benedict wants to save Germany he has to move quickly and to turn around spirituality there to Orthdoxy. This can be accomplished too by moving the Church toward Truth or Orthodoxy.
Also Pope may need to take back media. Forums, TV, youtube, Christian movies , Christian life and such need to be promoted. Yesterday Saint Paul went to marketplace where people where. Today people are on internet, TV this is where Marketplace of today is.
To save Germany and Europe I would start with a marketing campain promoting antiabortion ideas explainig what abortion is, a schema, what contraceptive pills means and such. If marketing campaingns help companies sell 1 million butter packets a day, they can accomplish saving a million babies a day too. Any new media technology and communication channel should be use by hiring the best profesionals to save lifes. If sin was riding in Corinth this did not stop Saint Paul going there for saving souls. Same today, if media is infected by sin this should not stop a cleaning process or prevent us to going there. Buying TV station, marketing companies and such may help.
May God preserve and help Europe and World and force them to salvation.
