Please join me in praying for the recovery of Otto Warmbier, the American student who was imprisoned in North Korea while on a tourist trip for allegedly trying to steal a political banner, and was returned to his family in USA this week in a coma.

Also please pray for the freedom and recovery of all other political prisoners who are being mistreated in North Korea and other countries around the world.

Dear Jesus, please bless Otto and his family and restore Otto to health quickly. Please protect others from falling into the hands of oppressive regimes, and please grant freedom and peace and health to all other mistreated political prisoners. In Jesus’ Name I humbly pray. Amen.

Our Lady of Fatima, please pray for this intention and take political prisoners and those in danger of being imprisoned under your special protection. We humbly ask your intercession for world peace and an end to inhumane political oppression everywhere.

Dear Saint Anthony, these prisoners are imprisoned by walls of selfishness, prejudice, suspicion. They are enslaved by lack of human respect and the fear of other people’s opinions of them. Saint Anthony, Liberator of Prisoners, tear down their prison walls. Break the chains that hold them captive. Make them free with the freedom Christ has won for them. To your powerful intercession I also recommend specifically the health of Otto Warmbier and the freedom and health of all other political prisoners of North Korea.

St. Benedict himself revealed to St. Gertrude - also one of the greatest saints in the history of the Catholic Church, and herself a Benedictine nun - that “whoever reminds me of the extraordinary privilege with which God deigned to glorify my last moments, shall experience my particular assistance in his final combat. I will be a faithful protector against the assaults of the enemy. Fortified by my presence, he will escape the snares of the evil one and safely attain eternal happiness.”
