Hello everyone.

I recently graduated from a Catholic law school (University of St. Thomas School of Law) and am studying for the Bar right now.

It is a rather stressful process. I am worried I won’t pass. This is not the end of the world of course, but it is a big time commitment to even study for it, and Id rather not do it twice.

For some reason around this time and other times of high stress I feel somewhat discouraged and depressed.

I have asperger’s syndrome, and for that reason many things, including schoolwork, organization and social intution have not come as naturally, or been as intuitivley easy for me as others. After looking at old high school documentations of myself ( a necessary practice for applying to the bar.) I felt somewhat depressed and discouraged, suddenly remembering how much both my parents helped me with life, and how I wasn’t always kind and cooperative with them.

I just ask for prayer intentions to help me pass the bar and overcome this little snag of depression I find myself in. I have been doing quite a bit prayer and meditation on religious art, and that somewhat helps alleviate this sorrow/discouragement, but not quite to the extent Id like it to.

Many thanks,

HF

Prayer for Test-Takers

Almighty God and Father,
please help us in our examinations.
Help us to face them with courage,
steady in nerves and keen in mind.
Help us to understand the questions that are asked,
to remember all that we have studied,
and to express our answers accurately.
Lord, grant us success, if success is good for us,
For you know what is best for each one of us.
With loving trust therefore we say,
“Whatever the results, blessed be your holy will.”
We make this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen.

St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Thomas More, pay for this poster as he studies for the bar. Amen.

HF,
I will pray for your intentions.
It’s never to late to apologize to you parents for past transgressions and to thank them for all they have done. 🙂
Congratulations, by the way, for how far you’ve come and for not letting anything hold you back!
The whole school ordeal with its exams/certifications is extremely stressful. You seem to have a great plan of attack so to speak! I bet you will be like a new person when this is over! You have prepared well. Keep studying, believe in yourself and trust in God to carry you through! This will all be over soon!
God bless you. Prayers and support!! 👍

Amen. Joining in prayer that you pass the bar exam.

Mary.

I will be happy to pray for you. Please give yourself some credit and confidence that you were able to get through high school, college, and law school with Asperger’s! That is such an accomplishment!! I am sure the Bar will be hard, but you can absolutely pass. Even if you don’t on your first try, that in no way means failure (unless you just give up.)

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Thank you so much for your prayers. I got sort of an interesting sign today.

After coming home from church, I was walking up to my house, and saw two mourning doves alight on a tree. I don’t see mourning doves often, and I rarely see two together.

I know of the two turtle doves form the christmas carol, and that the dove is a symbol of the holy spirit.

I know as Catholics we aren’t really supposed to believe in omens or signs, yet I felt somewhat encouraged by seeing such a beautiful and rare sight.

Coincidentally, I have always like mourning doves the best of local birds. They lack the physical beauty of hummingbirds, cardinals or blue-jays, yet I find them somehow more quietly beautiful. Their coo is quite pleasnet as well.

Thanks so much again!

Lifting you up in prayer

The Lord bless you, and keep you.
The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you.
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and grant you peace.

A Bar Exam Serenity Prayer

Dear God,

Please grant me the serenity to accept the things I do not know;
Wisdom to answer the questions to the best I can; and
Courage to execute and be disciplined through the conclusion.
Marching one section at a time;
Enjoying one second at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to success on the Bar;
Taking, as He did, this sinful bar exam as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in my choice of this professional career and supremely happy with Him.
Forever in the next.

I wish for a chance to use my knowledge, power, and talent to serve others.
I pledge that I have done my best and I leave no regret behind.
Please bless me and all those who deserve to pass the bar.
Amen.

Don’t forget to duck! …alright, cheesy joke. Humor aside: St. Joseph of Cupertino, pray for us!

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity.
O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart for help in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power.
O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen.
