I can relate to this intention. In February I had to say goodbye to a beloved cat who got a fast-spreading cancer. I still miss her very much even though I have other beloved cats and have taken in a new cat in need of help. Each cat is special and an individual, and reflects the love God has for me in their trusting and loving behavior.
**Prayer for someone who has lost a pet **

Loving Lord, I pray for your loving compassion to surround all those who have lost their beloved pets.
Lord, you love all these pet owners and have compassion for their emotional pain. Put your arms of love around them and comfort them as they deal with the loss of their beloved pets. Death has taken their treasured companions from their homes, but it cannot take them from their owners’ hearts.
Thank you, Lord, for all the good times that they shared. They created a bond that will never be broken. Thank you for all the joy and laughter that these deceased pets gave to the world.
As each pet owner ponders their reunion with their pet in heaven, may the owners feel a growing satisfaction that this life is but the entry hall into our eternal home. May the pet owners feel warm and comforted by realizing that there will be more memories to be made with their pets when they arrive in our Father’s heavenly home. As we look through the eyes of faith, we see all these pets joyfully playing in the heavenly kingdom of God.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
May St. Francis of Assisi pray for and intercede for all persons grieving their pets, and ask the Lord to comfort them.
Blessed Mother, St. Joseph, and St. Gertrude, please also pray for these grieving pet owners. Thank you. Amen.
