For a person who fears her sins were too much and does not find reassurance in anything one says. She feels God is punishing her and her family for her sins. Could I ask prayer for her, for healing, peace, hope and trust…and I would also like to ask prayer for all who are discouraged or overcome by guilt.

Lord please give her Your peace and mercy.
Please give troubled souls Your peace.

God bless you for your kindness in praying for her/them.

Dear Father, we know that You have forgiven this woman. Now we ask that You help her forgive herself. Grant her the peace knowing that, once forgiven, her sins are forgotten. In Jesus name we pray.

Always praying for your intentions, Trishie. Sounds like she/them are thinking of the OT God of vengeance, not the NT God of mercy and forgiveness.

As far as needing assurance, remind your friend that God’s love is UNconditional. And that as David walked “through” the valley of the shadow of death, he was 1. alone 2. scared, but comforted just by knowing God was there (though he couldn’t see Him) and 3. he had to go through the valley **-- **no one plucked him out of there.

Watch, O Lord, your servants who desire to draw closer to you. Fill them with the spirit of your peace. Amen.

God bless each of you for your generous prayers.
May God grant all of your intentions, known and hidden your in hearts and needs.
Trishie

Lord please give her Your peace and mercy.
Please give troubled souls Your peace.

Praying this with you.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Short reading Colossians 1:9 - 11 ©

Through perfect wisdom and spiritual understanding, may you reach the fullest knowledge of God’s will. So you will be able to lead the kind of life which the Lord expects of you, a life acceptable to him in all its aspects; showing the results in all the good actions you do and increasing your knowledge of God. You will have in you the strength, based on his own glorious power, never to give in, but to bear anything joyfully.
