This weekend I had some pretty difficult and lasting panic attacks which left me laying down most of the weekend. I went to the doctor this morning and they confirmed that there’s nothing physically wrong with me that would cause breathing difficulties, and they believe it was just anxiety.

I’m taking this as a sign that I need to wake up and take life more seriously, especially that I need to stop being presumptuous and abusing the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Please pray that I am healed from this affliction and that I can come out of it a new creation in Christ, rather than falling back into old habits, being renewed in my thinking and in my actions. Or if this is not theologically sound (I’m not good at theology) please pray for whatever is more theologically sound.

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death
Amen.

Father, guide Your child and show them the path that You would have them walk. Give them courage, strength, peace, and that which You alone know will benefit them. Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility and
Mother of Hope,
look upon me in this time
of disquiet and weakness.

Still my restless spirit,
teach my searching heart to know
that God’s love for me
is unchanging and that the suffering
which He may will for me now
is to draw me closer to Him.

Let thy gentle peace and His —
which the world cannot give —
be always with me, that I may
be sanctified: and then:
I beseech thee
for the grace to bring this
peace to others.

Jesus, My Savior, I give myself
entirely to Thee through Mary:

Our Lady of Mental Peace,
pray for us!

Amen

For Those Who Suffer with Emotional Illness

Lord Jesus, Your healing extends to the depths of our mysterious being. Remember the sufferings of those who are afflicted with emotional disorder. Help them to understand themselves, help others to understand them. In their agony of fear or anger, sadness or despair, confusion, withdrawal, loneliness, or loss of self-esteem, may they find the grace to trust You, to let You love them through the ministry of friends, and to appreciate the beauty and the value of their persons. Free them, lead them to peace, bless them with truth and reality. Help them to find medical professionals who can relieve their torment. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Amen.

Praying! One day at a time. God never abandons us, even if sometimes we may be tempted to think so. I also deal with terrible anxiety bouts - as hard as they may be I try to look at them as suffering with Christ and treading through the dark night of the soul.

You have my prayers. Remember, not all afflictions and troubles are a sign of God being displeased.

“Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.”
“I plead with you! Never, ever give up on hope, never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged. Be not afraid.”
“If He asks much of you, it is because He knows you can give much.”

Prayer for Anxiety Attacks

“Dear God,

“I know that you created me in the perfect image and likeness of Yourself. I ask that you, Holy Spirit, and the archangel Raphael help me know and experience this health in my physical body. I am willing to release all thoughts and behaviors that create the illusion of illness and pain. I know that You are omnipresent, so therefore, You exist in every cell in my body. Please help me feel Your love in my physical body so that I can know that You cradle me in Your arms right now. Amen”
