For some peace in my broken heart

Unfortunately, my last thread was not just a great misunderstanding, but a disaster that did a number on my heart. I also think that summarization was apparently misleading and lacking context. Regardless, it has left me in tears. And now I’m also considering the prospect of leaving this forum for good.

For it would seem to me that no good deed goes unpunished.

Please pray that I get better.

Please allow me to pray for the repair of your broken heart and I extend to you my sympathy for the damage done to you by your previous thread. Chalk it up to a lesson learned and try to out it behind you.

Praying for your peace. Did you not ask for feedback? Did you not get it? Or did you not get the kind of feedback you wanted? I guess that is the danger of putting yourself out there. Could you use it to improve your writing or will you take it as a personal criticism? Were they just trying to be helpful? Or overly critical? Praying that you will keep an open mind to constructive feedback, but not take it personally. And also Praying that you realize that no one is perfect, including yourself, and will forgive those who you feel have hurt you. You must have a big imagination and some perseverance to have written a whole novel in high school. That is impressive. Praying for you to find encouragement in the Lord.

I do not know what happened in your thread, but I have been in your position because of the insensitivity, thoughtlessness and self-righteousness of others offering poorly timed and just plain bad advice. If you lose someone’s heart, you lose all.

Unfortunately for us, sometimes a person is so desperate for a kind, loving, warm and understanding heart that we will take to fora to find one. When we get the opposite, it can be traumatic and do much more harm .

Instead of telling Wise Man that it may have been his fault, I think it is time for advice givers to maybe work on their “bedside manner.”

Again, I do not know what went on in the thread, but I understand his broken heart well as a result.
