…so that with a job offer, combined with my financial aid package (loans), I can have some proof of income to submit to the apartment manager so that I can have a permanent address (I have been living in hotels the past two weeks, and the past two days in the university library’s 24 hour lounge as I am out of money - technically sleeping is not allowed there, but the security guards turn the other way). And I also need the income in order to pay the rent (I really do not want to involve my parents in this, since they were opposed to me moving here in the first place). And I need a permanent address so that I can renew my driver’s license, which expires in a few weeks. I also have a storage facility back in my old city whose rent I need to pay off in a few days.

Can you send speedily some prayers? Even just one Hail Mary (full prayer, not the Fatima children’s purported shorthand)? I have not had a proper meal since breakfast of Monday - strictly water yesterday.

I have set up an online campaign for donations (not going to post it here as this is not the place and some of you might know me in person, though you can PM me - I am not going to spam you). I don’t want to say that this is urgent, but in a way it really is.

EDIT: I have just applied for two positions as an optometric assistant. Can you pray that I get one of them? Also, for a few relevant things, including for sufficient money for a hotel or inn in town so that I can have time to freshen up, and a quick and smooth transition to my new apartment?

Prayer for Employment

God, our Father, I turn to You seeking Your divine help and
guidance as I look for suitable employment. I need Your wisdom
to guide my footsteps along the right path, and to lead me to find
the proper things to say and do in this quest. I wish to use the gifts
and talents You have given me, but I need the opportunity to do
so with gainful employment. Do not abandon me, dear Father, in

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

Right now I am too angry to pray. I have been on this campus three days straight because I can’t afford an inn to live in for the time being. Add to this that nobody has called me back for a job offer.

Really am not happy.
