I’ve seen a lot of people comment on this before.
How many of you guys feel the Tridentine Latin Mass is just generally more beautiful and more reverent than the Ordinary Form? I’ll be one to say that I totally think so (I’m 14 or 15 or something), though I don’t think the OF is “rebellious” or “evil” or anything.
Coming from a Protestant background, I think the reason so many Catholics are drawn to praise-and-worship music in the NO is because, well, the NO is in English and Protestants (unlike Catholics) had hundreds of years to achieve a spirited form of worship. Unfortunately, losing the TLM meant losing a piece of Church history, and a beautiful practice unique to the Catholic Church that drew people of all backgrounds.
Now it’s back to some degree and I hope to attend one at a cathedral downtown sometime soon. (I’ll have to actually pay attention in Latin now. lol)
But I’m just curious, how many teens and other young-ish peeps like the Latin Mass in particular?
