Hello brothers and sisters. There is something I would like to share with you that keeps being in my mind.
Today I had the opportunity to be at Mass. A young family of mine celebrated his first Communion, so it has been nice to be able to live that moment in one’s life on the other side of the fence, now that the Lord has given me the gift to learn a bit more about Him. When I was younger I was not really aware of how special receiving Jesus was.
It was the time for receiving their first Holy Communion for the children. Everything happen as you would expect until I noticed that one of them came back to the priest and dropped the Holy Communion in his hands. I still wonder if that was what I really saw, but in that instant I saw the priest with such a sad face receiving the Holy Host himself.
I am not really sure why, but all of a sudden I felt a lump in my throat. I guess I saw Jesus in the priest, always with open arms, always waiting, and we keep rejecting Him again and again when we sin, and I thought of myself, how I am not very different.
I am almost certain that the kid was not aware of what he was doing. Nonetheless, I have hope for him. God has showed us over and over with the example of the saints that He is capable of soften the hardened hearts of the worst of us sinners and transform us into truly repented and loving saints. Sometimes, if it is our path to walk, is better to fall deeper to be able to rise anew that living in a perpetual limbo not being able to recognize our faults.
Conclusion: If you were so kind, would you offer some prayers for a true change of heart and the true conversion of this child, so we can help him see Jesus as the always welcoming friend that loves him so much? I think the best we can do for him is leave his situation in the hands of the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and Mother Mary.
It would be lovely if you could offer some prayers for the other kids too, so they can learn to love Jesus and Mary too as well as bring light to their families and those who meet them.
Thank all of you for your time and effort. Keep up the good work prayer warriors. What all of you do is invaluable. Peace and have a happy Feast of the Most Holy Trinity everyone.
