For the Clergy

I’ve been reading about the ongoing sexual abuse scandal in Philadelphia…
As angry as I am about the horrible crimes committed by those entrusted by the community as well as the Holy Spirit (through the grace of their ordinations), I am concerned for the rest of the Clergy. These men dedicate their lives to God and service to the community… Please pray for them… that they may remain faithful to the call of god, as well as their vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.

Please pray for the continued healing of the victims.

Lord, bless and protect your devoted, faithful priests and grant them all the graces they need to keep faithful to their calling. Bless those priests who are struggling, those who are tempted, those who are lonely, and those who are growing old and infirm. Bless especially those who have administered the sacraments to me and have helped me throughout my life. Keep your priests close to your Sacred Heart and do not let them go. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer.
